Join us 9 AM Saturday before it gets too hot! This beautiful no-intro walk goes past the lagoon and the marina! Some call it a pup parade! Meet on the corner of Orlena & Vermont. Please sign the release in our bio if you haven’t signed one yet.

Our walks respect you and your dog’s need for space, help dogs learn to be calm around others and create an opportunity for us to meet and support each other. Walks among others can satisfy our dog’s need to belong and often lead to a long nap afterwards. And if you need help with any behavior challenges, we can offer suggestions to help you overcome or manage them. Please reach out!

Some of our dogs are scared. Some are shy. Some are reactive. Some are friendly, but learning how to be calm around others. We maintain these rules on our walks: a minimum of ten feet from others (unless dogs are together), one dog per handler, a six-foot or shorter leash (no retractables, please) and NO dog intros. It is everyone’s responsibility to keep their dogs safe and safely under control. If you can follow our rules, you are welcome to join us. Please feel free to use a muzzle if your dog would benefit from it. If you’re not sure if your dog would do well at a pack walk, please message us for more information.

This beautiful boy has been failed over and over. Please share him for a foster or adoptive home. @save_birdie_girl 💔 CHICO NEEDS HELP. 💔
On 4/3/26, Chico was surrendered by his owner due to a move. Through no fault of his own, he lost the home and family he knew. 😔He then found himself at the high-kill Downey Animal Care Center in Downey, CA, where he landed on a 72-hour notice. When Chico was rescued in April, many volunteers and supporters celebrated, believing his best days were finally ahead of him.
🆘Instead, Chico was placed directly into boarding. ⌛️Nearly 5 months later, he is still there, spending most of his day confined to a small crate for 18+ hours a day. 💔

This is especially heartbreaking because Chico was a favorite among many Downey volunteers. ❤️ He absolutely loves people and would happily climb right into your lap for cuddles. ❤️
⚡️He survived being surrendered. ⚡️He survived a high-kill shelter. ⚡️He survived a 72-hour notice. 💔Yet he still hasn’t gotten his chance.
🌟A recent trainer described Chico as a smart, loving dog with tremendous potential who responded beautifully to guidance and structure.
🔚With @ritzrescuerangers publicly announcing their closure, Chico urgently needs our community’s help.

What a pretty girl! Repost @pinkie_thepittie Week ✨11✨ with Pinkie has been all about getting out and about! Baby girl is tired - 😴

📚Two regular full training days with @loveurk9training
🐶Pitbull Appreciation Day hosted by @blockheadbrigade where she did AMAZING meeting three new people
🐕‍🦺 Pack Walk with @sukapup_ - her best one yet!
✏️Group training class with @bamk9_lbc with new dogs (she’s learning how to place on fun objects like large rocks)
☕️ Coffee outting with @bigdogenergy_la where she practiced being calm in public places
⚽️ Lots of observing soccer and tennis players, getting used to all the sounds and people running

Pinkie is thriving with us and we are doing everything we can to get her ready for her forever family.

🐾💕 HELLOOOO, HOOMANS! I’M TOM 💕🐾

…and I’m officially single, snuggly, and ready to wiggle my way straight into your heart! 🥰🐶

Once upon a time, my momma, my five siblings, and I found ourselves dumped at a very high-kill shelter. 😢💔 The shelter was completely FULL, and our little family was in a pretty scary situation.

BUT THEN… 🥁🥁🥁

✨ OUR RESCUE STEPPED IN AND SAVED ALL SIX OF US + MOMMA! ✨
🎉🐶🎉🐶🎉🐶🎉

Talk about one lucky litter! 🙏💕

I’m about 9 weeks old, which means I’ve already mastered all the most important puppy skills:

😴 Sleeping like it’s an Olympic sport
🍽️ Eating like there’s no tomorrow
🎾 Playing until I completely forget what I was doing
🐾 Being unbelievably adorable
🔁 Starting the whole process all over again!

I’m a tiny male Pittie mix, and my momma is a petite girl, so nobody knows exactly how big I’ll be when I’m all grown up. 🤷‍♂️🐾

Maybe I’ll stay on the smaller side… or maybe I’ll surprise everyone! Either way, I can guarantee one thing: I’m going to be 100% handsome and lovable. 💙🐾

Im ready for my forever home❤️For now, my siblings and I are happy, healthy, playful, and keeping everyone on their toes with our puppy zoomies! 🐾💨

What a day for the pitties! 🐾❤️

Yesterday, nine adoptable dogs from Long Beach Animal Care Services joined the festivities at Pit Bull Appreciation Day, hosted by @blockheadbrigade

They soaked up attention, making new friends, and showing everyone just how lovable these often-misunderstood dogs can be.

And the best part? One of our shy pups arrived needing a little extra encouragement (and a lift!), but by the end of the day, she had something even better — a family of her own! 🏡❤️

Grateful for everyone who came out to celebrate, and to the organizations and vendors who helped make the day so special! @bubz_and_pupz @k9kismet @lbccookieco @zoomroomlb @lbanimalcare
