One of the things that makes our Brazilian Picnic in Hamilton so special is seeing people embrace our culture with so much love.
Most of the members of Bloco Martelo are Canadian, but they learned our batucada, our rhythms and a little piece of our Brazilian soul. 🥁🇧🇷🇨🇦 And every year, they do their best to be part of our picnic and celebrate with us.
It means so much to have you there. Thank you for the energy, the music, the smiles and, most importantly, for the respect and love you show for Brazilian culture.
You may be Canadian, but when the drums start… there is definitely some Brazilian blood running through those veins! 😂🥁🔥
We appreciate you more than you know. ❤️

Happy to announce an upcoming workshop with Pato Irie!

Patricio ‘Pato Irie’ Martinez was born and raised in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and developed his musical stylings while living and playing in the birthplace of Samba Reggae. In 1997 Pato moved to Chile, where he shared his knowledge of Samba Reggae for more than 10 years. Now based in the GTA, he is the founder and musical director of TDot Batu, the premiere samba reggae band in Canada, and the acclaimed International Samba Reggae Festival. Due to his multilingual background, Pato teaches around the world, enriching the international community with his knowledge of authentic Samba Reggae. by @blocomartelo
