Thoughtful, efficient, and beautiful design for all
// Scandinavian inspired design studio based in Greenville,SC

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We started BLOM Design Studio with the idea that thoughtful, efficient, and beautiful design should be available for all - regardless of one’s preferred architectural style, budget, or the size of the project.

As natives of Finland and the American South, and with backgrounds in both architecture&design and construction&wood working, we’ve been able to create a unique approach to home design in our area by merging the comfort and convenience of Southern home with the efficiency and simplicity of Scandinavian design.

Over the years we’ve worked with a variety of different clients and collaborated with multiple people in different projects, and we’re thankful for every one of them, along with everyone who’s been following our work for the past years - could not have done it without you!

We are excited and honored to be included in Forbes’ inaugural list of “America’s Top 200 Residential Architects”!

Thank you @forbes for this recognition, we are beyond humbled that from 18,000+ firms that were reviewed, our small residential design studio was included among such talented architecture firms.

Home office/ library/ playroom/ den - this multifunctional room is partly connected to the main living spaces while still it’s own space. Large windows are bringing in natural light and opening views towards gardens in two directions.

In any home design, we focus on getting as much natural light into the space as we can, which can often be challenging with townhome units. In this end unit we were able to get large windows on two sides of the room, bringing in natural light and private views due to the mature trees on the side of the unit.

A moment for green

Collection of spaces with green elements, either as the main focus or as an accent piece. Green can be used as a neutral tone, bringing life to any space along with plants and the surrounding nature seen through windows and openings

A moment for blue

This home was designed to be calm, timeless and versatile. The color blue carries through the interiors creating harmonious and peaceful spaces that still feel unique and fun.

We’ve been working on different designs concepts for one of Greenville’s many historic districts.

(conceptual renderings in the last slides >> )

This ‘modern bungalow’ is designed to blend in within the existing historic homes in the area, while offering an updated floor plan to accommodate today’s lifestyle.

Partly open concept that is divided into multiple zones keeps living spaces connected while providing designated areas for different functions.

Exteriors and landscaping is almost done at @leachstreetcommons and we’re finishing up the rest of the interiors.

It’s exciting to see our vision finally come to life after working through the concepts and designs details over the past years
