It Didn’t Have To Be This Way is out now on all platforms. It’s hard to put into words how much these songs mean to us. Some of the songs have been around for 2 years, some for significantly less. Most of these songs were written after going on tour and being inspired by so many amazing bands across the country, they’re inspired by our friends and by the experiences in our lives and the things we’ve seen. These are songs about the violence we face every day, the violence of the state, the violence of the police, the violence of exploitation and alienation, the violence of climate change and the violence of living in this world dominated by profit. These songs are written in the hopes that you feel inspired to learn, to channel your feelings of isolation and hopelessness into something greater. We write these songs in the hopes that despite the evils of this place, we can come to the conclusion that it doesn’t have to be this way and we can build a better future together. Thank you again everybody for being a part of this, for listening and for accepting us and for inspiring us. We love you all genuinely and we can’t wait to sing these songs with you. It Didn’t Have To Be This Way 1. No Tomorrows 1999 2. Community Service 3. Blackwater 4. Gilded Crowns 5. State Idols 6. Ambulance 7. Violence Recorded & Mixed by Adrian Kobziar at Ohmstead. Mastered by Pete Grossmann at Bricktop Recording. Physical release through Zegema Beach Records, CDs available now through them and cassettes coming soon. We just got home from an incredible run of the east coast with our good buddies in @opencarrystate and we don’t have the words to express how much fun and how grateful we are for the chance to have been able to hang out and play these shows with them a few weeks ago. Thank you so much to everyone who came out, all the bands we played with, all the folks who put the shows together and to our besties in open carry for being so awesome and incredibly talented, we’re truly honored to have been able to share this experience with them. We’ve got a few tour leftovers up now on our bandcamp including some CDs by @vamonosrecords and tshirts by our good friends @ggbrand artwork by @deathuponuu my cat not for sale despite him desperately wanting to be included. In the meantime, we’re locked in on writing some new stuff for the rest of the year so as the saying goes, big things soon. Photo 1 by @vanessaivaladez Photo 6 by @neno2k1 by @bloomdreamband

C86’d DIY Vol. 21: Bloom Dream x Open Carry State Summer Tour! After a little hiatus we are excited to be back at @trans.pecos to bring a couple more of our fav Southern Emo/Screamo acts to NYC!   @bloomdreamband blew us away with their 2024 release  of “It Didn’t Have to be this Way” riding the line between controlled chaos and beauty - sometimes the things that set an album or band apart are the soft bits interwoven between the chaos.  Their vein of emotional hardcore has hints of shoegaze and emoviolence, creating a transcendent experience.  @opencarrystate are time travelers bridging some of the classic chaotic hardcore sounds (before there was even “screamo” bands) with mathy melodic guitars, pinhead start/stops, and chunky breakdowns that only last long enough for one or two spin kicks.  A band that we’ve been checking in on regularly since the release of their demo last year only to be melted to the ground by “Spitting in the Face of Progress.”   Our Southern friends will be sandwiched between an amazing line up of locals! Opening up the show will be NYC x LI’s @weonlyspokeinellipses with their first show in over a year.  Their two demos are incredibly impressive screamo and we can’t wait to see them perform live! @wllnssnyc (members/x-mem of Heavenly Blue, Massa Nera, Forever, and Liturgy) will also be bringing their mathcore intensity to the stage - Seeing them at Endless Fest was truly a site to see!  Closing out the night will be our friends in @epoxy_nyc . Their self described “post-emo” covers a lot of ground hinting at influences from emo/screamo to Touch & Go Records, and even the angular, at times dancey, post-hardcore of the early 00’s that we don’t hear often enough these days.    It’s an amazing line up and so happy we can help out some of more of our Southern friends.  Come hang.  Wednesday August 19th, 2026  Trans-Pecos  9-15 Wycoff Ave  Ridgewood, Queens, NYC  All Ages // Doors at 7pm $14 advance // $18 day of show  (tickets in the @xc86dx profile) taken in Trans-Pecos by @bloomdreamband
