Welcome to Blooming in the After! The name of my business holds two meanings: one concrete and one deeply personal. On the outside “Blooming” represents the fresh and dried flowers, moss, wood, and stone I use to create non-traditional wreaths, planters, and home decor. I design these pieces to bring the raw, soothing beauty of the outdoor world inside. Nature has always been my sanctuary. It has brought me solitude, peace, and joy when nothing in the human world could. I want to share that profound peace with you through art that honors our planet. That is why sustainability is at the heart of everything I do. But there is an “after” to my personal story. I am 48 years old and for the last 25 years I have devoted myself to my role as a teacher, wife, and mother. This next chapter is finally my turn to pour my energy into myself and my dreams. “Blooming in the After” is my own blooming, later in life, after all the other things came first. It is proof that it is never too late to start fresh, honor your spirit, and give things a beautiful second life; whether it is an old brass vase or a long-held dream. Thank you for being a part of my next chapter. I would love to hear about your own story. How are you blooming today? Please share in the comments! #BloomingInTheAfter by @bloomingintheafter
