Getting my hobbit look on!

I meant to make this hobbit cloak for my husband last year and now here it finally is!
Thanks to @kiki.textiles for the fabulous gabardine fabric that was perfect for this project.

✨Tilda ✨

I’ve had this make on my list for years. Idk why I took so long to make it because it’s quite a quick sew.
This blouse feature tin tucks/pleats along the front of the blouse and on the sleeves. I really love how those little details elevate the blouse and make it feel so feminine.

The size I cut out felt too big. So I took about 2 inches from each side seam. Next time I’ll prob just got down in size because the sleeve feels a bit big as well.
But needless to say I’m gonna be making more of these. This blouse pairs so well with anything.

I have been sent many things by @ldh_scissors
I can’t say I like all their stuff. I don’t like their rotary cutters at all. But their scissors, I have had great experiences with.
In this video I got over the differences between the midnight edition 8”sheer and the ergonomic midnight edition 9” sheer.

Grand Bain shorts

It’s funny how fall is.

Cold in the morning and by afternoon I have to change into shorts. That’s what happened today and I figured I’d get some photos and a video of this pair I finally finished last week.

I really like these shorts. Now I’m think I’m gotta hack them into an elastic back!! We will see how that goes!!

✨Grand Bain Shorts✨

This is my second pair of the @maisonfauve grand Bain shorts. They are so cute. My precious pair was really a wearable toile and I also love how those turned out but I was trying to get the fit perfect for this fabric.

This is the @linenlab.co.kr linen herringbone twill fabric in pink.
It is so nice! It has a beautiful drape to it and I’ve been saving this for something perfect!

✨Grand Bain Shorts ✨

These are the @maisonfauve grand Bain shorts. When they first posted them I LOVED them and knew I wanted some for myself. I needed some summer shorts and here we are at the beginning of fall and I have finally made them… haha 🤦🏻‍♀️ this seems to happen every year
Life gets ahead of me and I don’t get my sewing plans done in time.

I really like these shorts. They are very cute and comfortable. I love the fitted waistband and the pleats. I did add 3 inches of length to them, as I like longer shorts. But other than that I made no mods.
These are a size 36 (in their sizing)
Going off the sizing guide I made my first mock up too large. So the 2nd time I went off the finished measurements and it worked perfect.

Fabric: thrifted cotton bedsheet

I plan to make them out of some cute fabric from linen lab next, as these were a mock up.

Also my cute belt! Is from @casupo.co I’ve been waiting for these shorts to be done so I could pair them together

Is this not such a cute pairing?? When Madeline @madswick_studio styled her outfit like this long ago I knew I had to copy. It’s such a vibe.
Kind of like little house on the prairie or even pride and prejudice vibes. I’m loving it!

✨Temple Dress✨

This dress was a long time in the making.
It’s a dress that holds a lot of meaning and symbolism to me.

I feel like God helped prepare me to be able to make this dress. And one of the ways he did that was helping me grow in my skills.
Every project that came before this brought me to this point. It’s not perfect, nor is it meant to be but I’m so proud of how this dress turned out.
I designed the dress. I altered pattern pieces I already owned and I was able to create this from a vision I had in my head.
How incredible is that??

I definitely attribute the feat to Gods hand in my life. God is good. 😊

The fabric I used was a beautiful white rayon from @supercheapfabrics
They have an incredible fabric selection and I have loved all the fabrics I’ve used from them and this one is no exception. It was gifted and I would be happy to collaborate with them again anytime!
