Summer of 2025 I started fly fishing. After realizing my passion for it I decided to dive deeper into the understanding of it.

In October of last year I started tying my own flies. it’s amazing how much you can learn about a subject that you’re truly passionate about.

I’m maybe a little bit lucky, but thankful to have found a hobby that I can pour myself into. I often think I only want to share the flies that are tidy, attractive, and nearly perfect in my eyes. Although sometimes it’s nice to recall the journey…so here are the first flies I ever tied.

I hope this post can give even one person the motivation needed to take the leap into something they are interested in. Immerse yourself in the art, the community, and the craft. Enjoy the ride! taken in British Columbia by @bluecollarflyguy

I tell myself I’m going to tie summer steelhead flies…then this happens 😂 there’s just something about swinging flies in the cold, wet weather.

The places you see, the lessons you learn, the memories you make, the people you meet, the sustenance you absorb. Fishing and hunting for life.
