That tattoo you’ve been hiding? It might be a lot easier to cover than you think.

One of the biggest things I hear from people is, “I have no idea what I could even cover it with.” If that’s you, don’t stress- I offer free cover-up consultations where we can brainstorm ideas together, and I’ll even sketch directly on your skin so you can actually visualize what’s possible before committing.

My client got this Friday the 13th flash tattoo, but unfortunately it healed with quite a bit of blowout and she was disappointed with how it turned out. She wanted to keep the ginkgo leaf theme and loved the idea of incorporating a fan. I suggested adding cherry blossoms so I could better work with the existing tattoo and use those smaller spaces to camouflage what was already there. She was all for it.

The bold black fan did a great job of covering the old tattoo while creating a really striking contrast. I finished it off with swirling graywash dotwork and a few drifting petals to give the piece a sense of wind, movement, and flow. Cover-ups are some of my favorite projects because it’s so rewarding to help someone fall back in love with their skin.

If you’ve been putting off a cover up because you don’t know what’s possible, send me a message. I’d love to help you figure it out
