Fight and Fighter Photography, and true to this… mainly DMV #boxing, an increasing dash of #mma, and many slices-of-life from training and sparring…

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: And, finally, an honor and a pleasure to try to capture a mix of moments before, during, and after the pro debut that @averywhitten_ faithfully pledged I’d see when I first met him — and hoping for many more with the Wire!

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: Those moments when the Black Rooster caught the Grizzly by the tail and discussed fashion with the Wire, and other sideline moments with the inimitable @realgallonegro_fuentes … including those vignettes with @the_grizzly_01 and @averywhitten_, caucusing with inspector Evan Silverstein, and being wrapped and then post-fight debriefing with @ubtattoo

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: @the_grizzly_01 wins the night’s Hydration Shot Honors for a matched pair of night-beginning and night-capping swigs — but highest possible Hydration Shot Honorable mentions to the excellent bids by @thereal_azizyasin and @averywhitten_

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: Hope folks will forgive the impersonality of a couple of potpourri posts of sideline shots before, during, and after the fights… here in the second batch, @ringannouncerjones lets the crowd know that the ambulance-induced delay getting started is nearly over, as is also evident by Kelvin Kibler being fully garbed for his ringwalk… skipping ahead to the short break after first bout, @officialghanaboi waits his time for his pro debut while @moe_different — having just won his debut — asks for shots with his team and with distinguished opposition Kelvin Kibler before decompressing… still latter, @damaine1jlg caucuses with Mark d’Attilio… @lowfie17 is enthused… @team_dmgz warms up… judges Paul Wallace and Mark d’Attilio confer (but, dagnabbit, I didn’t have eyes on @ericdirizarry!)… hey, it’s @thewolverine_360! (and junior associate)… down time at commission table… @lowfie17, still abuzz… 10-count time at the fights, and @ringannouncerjones introduces national anthem time before the main event… after the main, Vernon Porter has instructions… in front of the banner, group shot involving @averywhitten_, @nativenightmare434, and @lowfie17, one without and one with @the_grizzly_01 in the mix… and an adorned @nodoubt_2001 works the crowd

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: Hope folks will forgive the impersonality of a couple of potpourri posts of sideline shots before, during, and after the fights… in this first set, a styling @nativenightmare434 … @kingcobra92 and Kelvin Kibler in the blue corner room, ready for work… getting attention for the fighters’ rules meeting in that blue corner dressing room… meanwhile, in red corner-land, @moe_different garbs up for his first-of-the-night and pro debut fight… nice seeing Nino Olvio again, and inspecting! … referees sspath71 Shaun Spath and Chris Lewter bring the rules discussion into the red corner room, as @nativenightmare434 and @averywhitten_ look on… early yet for a main eventer, but @nodoubt_2001 gets ready… @moe_different gets gloved… @nodoubt_2001 juggles!… an intense @jwbrewer02 … mitts for @kingcobra92… in their separate spaces not many steps apart, main eventers @team_dmgz and @nodoubt_2001 get wrapped… and I wasn’t able to get the night’s officials all in one place for a shot, but here judges Paul Wallace, Mark d’Attilio (with @ringannouncerjones), and @ericdirizarry (getting situated at commission table alongside @damaine1jlg et al.) separately at their posts

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: Bout 7, the main event, would — however fittingly — be the Knockout Gala’s only tilt to go to decision, with @nodoubt_2001 Kahleel Benson winning by unanimous decision (100-90, 99-90, 97-93) against very sturdy @team_dmgz Cristian Dominguez, who kept things competitive in the late rounds

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: Bout 6 the co-main, a high-quality grudge rematch between two favorite fighters, was upgraded late to an 8-rounder but would only need 5… @the_grizzly_01 Tristian Lackey would score knockdowns against a very competitive @lamontthegeneral99 Alfred Moss Jr in rounds 1, 2, 4, and 5, the last one resulting in Lackey’s TKO win at 0:54 of round 5

10/17, @scottcujosigmon Knockout Gala in Lynchburg: Bout 5 saw more torrid work by @realgallonegro_fuentes Christian Fuentes Flores, battling to the KO win against a very game @jwbrewer02 John Brewer at 1:03 of round 4
