New book launch day! Another @bluetrainpublishing collaboration with @rapha editions and @raphamtb

Off-road Heroes
“Emancipated from the cacophony of the streets, the mountain bike drew us into an adventurous, undiscovered realm where Mother Nature ruled supreme, where challenge eclipsed toil, and where camaraderie and ingenuity trumped the mano-y-mano pettiness of riding on the road.”
–Richard Cunningham

This book is an unofficial ode to the history of mountain biking, from the off-road roots of the bicycle all the way through to the future stars of the sport. Mapping its progress from back country roads to globally-watched races, Off-road Heroes remains a reflection of the riding it chronicles; fun, free and a little different.

Featuring writing and editing from:
Guy Andrews @bluetrainpublishing, Richard Cunningham, Guy Kesteven @guykestv, Tym Manley, Geoff Waugh @geoff_waugh and Matt Wragg @matt_wragg, Kylie Bielby and Claire Read @clairereadie

And additional photography from:
Bob Allen @boballenimages, Dean Bradley @drbphotosports, Steve Behr @stevebehr0, David Epperson @david76epp, Beth Schneider, Malcolm Fearon @blissimages, Robin Kitchin @robinkitchin, Sterling Lorence @eyeroam, Sven Martin @svenmartinphoto, Mark Dawson @markdawsonstudio, Ale Di Lullo aledilullophotography, Scott Markewitz @scottmarkewitz, Michal Cerveny @michalcervenyphoto, John Gibson @gibbymtbphoto, Dave Stewart, Vance Sprock @vancesprock, Steve Fassbinder @republicofdoom, WellOffside @welloffside, Wende Cragg @wendecragg12

Just a quick “Gary Fisher and The Bicycle Revolution” reminder. It’s perfect gift for the cyclist or mountain biker in your life and a fascinating read about one of cycling’s true characters, but don’t take our word for it, see what the press have had to say:

“This is not a regular biography, which is fitting, because Fisher is not your typical cycling personality. A rare chance to hear from a true legend of the sport and the industry”
– RICHARD PEPLOE, ROAD.CC

“It’s a great book. No, it’s a fantastic book; It’s eclectic, it’s lively, it’s full of fabulous photographs and I loved it”
— CARLTON REID, FORBES CYCLING CORRESPONDENT AND THE SPOKESMEN CYCLING PODCAST

“Gary Fisher takes readers on a wild ride – Being Gary Fisher and The Bicycle Revolution is the most candid, comprehensive, and personal account of his life yet”
— BYRON, BIKE HUGGER

Seeing as Being @gary_fisher is a book of incredible stories, we asked a few very talented illustrators to interpret Gary’s antics. Illustrations from @ste_illustrates @japa_art @athomsonart @rosenfeldtown @matthewburtonillustration and what we learned was that illustrators are the nicest folk to work with. You buy a copy here:

Aside from the photography and bespoke illustrations, the design of Being @gary_fisher is a departure in modern book publishing. We threw the kitchen sink at this one. Multiple @pantone colours, typography, print and construction. Working with @ultc and @ajfergusson who made each spread a slightly different and unique experience. And to SYL l’art gráfic printers and binders in Barcelona.
