Eminem once sung ‘Nobody listens to techno’.

He couldn’t be more wrong as on Saturday night 10,000 danced their way through the era’s of Moby’s back catalogue from rave culture through to indie, rock, electronica, techno and ambient.

Turns out, Eminem… 10,000 people were listening. And dancing. 🕺🎶

On Friday 26th June, The Streets played their seminal album ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’, followed by a set of classics from their other albums, at Dreamland in Margate.

Mike Skinner was backed up by an excellent array of musicians and backing singers.

‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ is a rap concept album which is on the list of a 1001 albums you must hear before you die - I definitely recommend checking it out ☺️

On Friday night I had an amazing night at Dreamland in Margate, watching Garbage supported by Skunk Anansie and Du Blonde.

It was a lovely warm summer evening reminiscing on 90s classics as well as listening to newer material from their latest album. Shirley Manson and the band really know how to put on a show 🤗

Friday saw the start of the Brick Lane Jazz Festival 🎷

In 93 Feet East there was a really good DJ set from Amena Zaman followed by a beautiful performance from Shivani Day, playing just her 3rd ever gig. There are so many musical styles and influences in her sound and I look forward to checking out more of her work.

I then went to Juju’s Bar to listen to a fantastic set from Celine Dessberg and her band. As well as Celine’s beautiful emotive voice, she played both the Mongolian harp and guitar during the set.

Looking forward to another great day of music on Saturday 🤗

Mansun were one of my favourite indie Britpop bands of the 1990s. It was always sad for me that they only made 3 albums!

On Friday at Electric Brixton, Paul Draper took an excited crowd through a set of all of their biggest hits. Lots of reminiscing and singing to boot.

On Thursday night, electronic music DJ Ninajirachi bought her ‘I love my computer’ tour to the Concorde 2 in Brighton.

Brighton understood the assignment as these electronic digital dreams were bought to life. Great sound and fantastic atmosphere 🎧

On Sunday Night 2-D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel bought their blend of electronica, rock, hip-hop, trip-hop, and world music vibes, to BP Pulse Live in Birmingham.

The sound and the vibe from the stage was electric!! Damon Albarn was everywhere last night - on vocals, bass, percussion, piano… showcasing the 9 albums of the Gorillaz project.

Their new album ‘The Mountain’ draws heavily from Indian musical influences and fuses them brilliantly with their usual electronica sound. Check it out along with the best of their back catalogue.

On Wednesday I went to the Royal Albert Hall in London to see Alex James Britpop Classical.

I do love these shows of classic hits being arranged with a classical orchestra. The show was excellently curated and performed with 90s singalong hit after hit 🤗

I was delighted to go to The O2 once again on Friday Night to see @petetongofficial @julesbuckleymusic and the Essential Orchestra play their Ibiza Classics show.

This is the 3rd time I have seen this show in the last 12 months either at The O2 or the Royal Albert Hall. It is always an amazing show with fantastic music and the atmosphere from the crowd takes the roof off!

It does make you want to go to Ibiza and I can’t wait for the 2026 show 🎧

On Tuesday night I went to The O2 to see Indie Rock band Wolf Alice.

I fell in love with their music when I heard ‘How Can I Make it OK’ on the radio many years ago.

Their live sound is amazing led by Ellie Rowsell’s powerful vocals with Joff Oddie on guitar, Theo Ellis on bass and Joel Amey on drums. If you get the chance to see them, I definitely recommend it.

On Thursday night it was time to put down the mangetout, climb off of the Chaise Longue and head to the Royal Albert Hall for Indie Rock Group Wet Leg.

I absolutely love their sound and their energy. If you ever get the chance to see them live, I definitely recommend it 🤗.

Before Oasis took to the stage at Wembley on Saturday, Richard Ashcroft performed a set of his solo and classic Verve material.

I saw him at Margate last summer, but to see him perform these tracks in front of 90,000 people was another experience entirely!!

Here is Richard performing the iconic 90s anthem ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’.
