Had a blast filming with @juliacolemusic over the weekend as we spoke about the 'Poppy Collection'! It was very fun to be set up at the CMAfest Fan Fair and I was not at all bothered by the awesome attendees who kept attempting to shop Julia's rack of custom stagewear. The one thing I hear most about my designs is that they draw people to eachother leading to conversations and meetings that may not have naturally happened. I really am grateful that my art can create in-life connection in a world that really has become so digital! Getting the opportunity to create this collection for Julia has been such an honor and she has looked stunning in every piece so far. It is her inner light and talent that truly shine on stage - I'm grateful I get to put the "cherry on top" of all her years of hard work with this custom wardrobe.

Last year, I dove head first into a passion project I’d been working on all year.

The launch of my very own westernwear collection! Westerna! A reflection of my roots and the country roads I grew up on. Those memories are a core part of who I am still today. Last year, I got to photograph Collection #1 with my amazing friend, Sarah, who has traveled on many occasions with me to help document my art in motion. I also got to photograph select pieces on my Grandparents’ farm, in the blistering cold!!, with my Mom! It’s actually so hard to part with the jackets that were documented on the farm last year, but I know there are many more to be made, and many more fall season collections to look forward to.

I want to thank EVERYONE here on Facebook that were so supportive and encouraging of A Westerna Day in its very first year! I hope my Westerna Collections will continue to be work that represents the calmer days of life. Each vintage fabric holds it’s own story from the past. They are a delight to work on throughout the year and it goes without saying that my community here has made that meaning grow even deeper because we share the same roots.

I’m already counting down to being home for the holidays! But in the meantime, I just wanted to drop a thank you note here. Many new styles and beautiful prints are dropping throughout October with select pieces available online from Collection #1 as of TODAY! www.etsy.com/shop/awesternaday
