I found my pink camera and took her out for a stroll. Many times these days I think, I love that I am busy and have real energy, and entertained by all of the things that I am. I enjoy pictures other people share with me a lot. Perhaps the greatest gifts have evaded me, or I have evaded them, until now, when I know that my favorite thing is comprehension of more and more and more. I dare to comprehend. I live for the act of noticing and noting and notating. by @blushingfish

what a strange month it has been. I feel older and younger at the same. I’ve been sleeping on a floor mattress and have become one with it. I have many new adventures next month and a weird stretch of time right now. I play my guitar every day. funny. I read poetry aloud for the first time, it was angry. I am angry, a lot these days. where does it go? the fryer. eclipse season is here and I am hormonal with its power. I want to scream with a band and in my car. I want to scream at somebody but have it mean something. I want to record my pretty guitar. I want to kiss somebody but have it mean something. I write articles online now, and share my poems. one of my favorite things I’ve written is at the end of this slideshow. it’s an excerpt. you may read my articles and poems online too. blushingfish on substack. share what you want to do if you want to do it. I want to read your somethings if it means something. I will braid your hair if you’ll have me. by @blushingfish

one more moment(s) from the past. sometimes I forget all of the things that have made me. some things don’t feel as serious as they once did and other things feel immense in their weight. I hope I always look back at how cool I once was to see how cool I am now. by @blushingfish

this is a song I wrote when I was 18. I used to play it with my band some years ago now. I hope they are all happy and healthy and look back at this fondly. I’ve been thinking about this song a lot in the last few months. these are some of my favorite lyrics still and they needed some recognition. It’s not perfect but I have fun. by @blushingfish

crosswinds splattering on the walls of me
pushing at the moment I am always body doubling as myself
turnstiles of the present
I look to southern beaches for comfort and warp and extend state lines as a practice
the pillow
the one under my waist as I search for alignment in my hips, they carry it all
so I turn them out to the mirror and face the windchill of excitement
comfort is an aching, thumping through the body
I can only feel it through glass tines and microwaves
bending the sand from weights of torridity
to a tracing of spun sugar
float
mirror knows my lengths for passion
sees the appetite of itself, waist turned out.
spit into the wind that’s where I’d take it
landing on myself I find the cautiousness of curiosity a glowing lava, speckled and cooling into cracked sugars
pressure and push
the glass tines are wind chimes
the offering of experience
ideas painted onto me
