8 years ago today, this article came out in the @wsj featuring a small handful of custom clothiers. We’ll always thank @noahzagor for giving our name to @jacobwgallagher for the piece. Over 5500 people visited our website that weekend and dozens became clients over the following months.

I’ve jokingly told people over the years that when Jacob asked “what’s an item that’s popular at BLVDier, that you fit people for all the time?” my dumbass told the truth: plain white shirts. I should’ve said a higher margin item like a suit or overcoat. Alas the following year we made over 800 shirts, about 300 more than the previous year.

We don’t have a marketing department or PR firm on retainer or a social media manager. When features like this occur, it means a lot to a small business like ours. And it takes patience and luck for them to happen.

Our custom candle is made here in Chicago in collaboration with @edgewatercandles and has a deep aromatic mixture of rosemary, grapefruit, oud and library books. They have a 50 hour burn time and are available in store for $59. taken in BLVDier by @blvdier
