Who said I cant do it all? I am multifaceted joy for a reason! Since I was a teenager, I knew exactly who I wanted to be — a businesswoman, an engineer, a woman with purpose. I’ve carried that vision with me since I was 15, and every version of myself since then has worked to bring her to life.

Today, I see her reflected in every part of me:

💼 The entrepreneur, building a brand that helps people feel seen and styled.
🧬 The biomedical engineer, driven by curiosity, impact, and innovation.
💪🏾 The woman committed to health — mind, body, and spirit.
👩🏾‍⚕️ The one in the lab coat, still that girl who dreamed boldly and worked tirelessly.

I’m not becoming her — I am her.
And this birthday isn’t just a celebration of age, but of alignment.

Happy 28th to me. The vision never changed — but I’ve only gotten stronger, sharper, and more certain.

GOD, I THANK YOU!

I’m excited to share that today I’ve officially started my Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, one of the TOP programs in the country, with a focus on neural engineering and translational innovation.

Building on my background in mechanical engineering, biology, and industry experience across R&D, quality, medical device and combination product development, this next step is about deepening my ability to design technologies at the intersection of engineering, biology, and the nervous system.

I’m especially interested in applications tied to neural interfaces, rehabilitation, and patient-centered therapies, where thoughtful engineering can directly restore or enhance function.

Especially grateful for the mentors and colleagues who have continue to encourage my growth and curiosity. Looking forward to what’s ahead!

GOD!! I thank you the MOST! For instilling ambition, resilience, perseverance and grit in me! Thank you for seeing me through all of my good times and bad ones. Olorun baba, ese oooooo!

This is a FULL CIRCLE moment for me!!!!

REAL HEAVY ON THE BEAUTY N BRAINS 🧠 💄🤭🤏🏽

the countless hours I spent studying for my Certified Medical Device Auditor (CMDA) exam. 📚👩🏾‍🔬

From Chicago to Houston to Miami, the study materials came with me 😂

One thing about me, I’ll always find ways to invest in myself and continue growing professionally. Passing this exam was a reminder that consistency and discipline really do pay off.

Another milestone in my engineering journey, and definitely not the last. 🧬✨

Chicago has a bioengineering scene, and I think we need to talk about it more. 🧬🏙️

Spent the day at the Chicago Bioengineering Conference hosted by @biohub getting a closer look at the research happening right here in the city: from bioelectronics and biomaterials to nanomedicine and beyond.

As someone who works in medtech/biotech and is now pursuing my master’s in biomedical engineering, I loved getting to step outside of my day-to-day, learn from researchers across different areas of the field, and explore more of Chicago’s research community.

Boston and the Bay Area may get a lot of the biotech buzz, but Chicago? We’re here too. 👀

CLUELESS, BUT CREDENTIALLED. 🧠

Somehow, I’ve made it to 19th grade.

This semester, I’m beginning the next chapter of my Master’s in Biomedical Engineering by diving into neural engineering — an opportunity to expand my understanding of how engineering can be applied to some of the most complex systems in the human body.

But lately, I’ve been thinking about education beyond what happens in the classroom.

At this stage in my career, I’m not only growing technically. I’m learning how to become a better leader, how to think more intentionally as a businesswoman, and how to continue making room for creativity alongside a career in STEM.

For a long time, I thought growth meant figuring out which version of myself I was supposed to become. I’m realizing now that maybe the point is learning how to bring all of them with me.

The engineer. The leader. The entrepreneur. The creative.

So here’s to 19th grade — still curious, still learning, and apparently still finding reasons to dress for the first day of school.

Mastering Biomedical Engineering, in style. 🧠

STEM Career Playbook 📖🧬

MedTech, biotech, pharma… same thing, right? 👀 Not quite.

If you’re trying to break into the life sciences, knowing the difference can help you figure out what kind of products, science, and careers actually interest you.

The easiest starting point:
🩺 MedTech → medical devices & technology
💊 Pharma → drugs
🧬 Biotech → biology used to develop products & technologies

And then things get really interesting when those worlds start overlapping. 👀

Which one do you want me to break down next?

How I finally broke six figures as an engineer 💰👩🏾‍🔬

One thing I’ll add that I didn’t fully capture in the video: I knew I could’ve left earlier and potentially made more money. But at that stage in my career, the experience and opportunities I was gaining were worth the trade-off for me.

Sometimes career growth isn’t just about maximizing your salary as quickly as possible. Know your value, but also know what YOU value.

Welcome to STEM Career Playbook 🧬💼 We’re talking salaries, career paths, breaking into the industry, and all the things I wish someone had explained to me earlier.

What career question should we talk about next? 👀

Career Girl Diaries 💗💼

Clocking out doesn’t always mean the work stops, sometimes it means making time to build the career you want.

Spent my evening at the Women in Bio Career Panel at MATTER, hearing from leaders across healthcare and life sciences about career pivots, growth, mentorship, and navigating the not-so-linear path to where you want to be.

My biggest takeaway? Growth doesn’t always mean moving up. Sometimes the lateral move, new experience, or unexpected opportunity is what gives you the runway for what’s next.

More rooms like this. More conversations like this. More intentional career building. 🧬✨

Follow for more Career Girl Diaries: navigating STEM, grad school, networking, and everything in between! What building a career in STEM actually looks like, beyond the 9–5. 💕
