I feel like I’ve been writing this post for the past couple of months. Every time I start it I realize it’s just way too long (it’s still long). This is because of the massive importance the Emissions @emissionsfromthemonolith festival has had on me and my career over the years. It’s this festival and the people involved that were the ground floor of me working with music artists. I’ve made life long friends with people who have either been involved with supporting or playing the festival. This is one of the places all of this started for me.

Just a bit of insight on the artwork for the poster. When I did the artwork for Emissions 7 a billion years ago I made a witch character. Just something ominous. This time round after talking to Greg he made mention of some of the things he was interested in and he’s always getting in trouble in the woods. So I figured why not do this revamped with a modern intimidating woman roaming the woods. Most of these witch stories is a woman who could read or do math that frightened a man so they burned her at a stake. The witch’s depiction is always through the eyes of the people who burned them so I wanted to flip the narrative. Why a person of color? I wanted another take. I didn’t want the boring trope. I didn’t want a woman fetishized. I wanted someone else represented. I wanted someone as powerful and as intimidating as the bands that play this festival. Powerful. Smart. Spooky. Ominous. Beautiful. Not to be trifled with. Wood Witch.

I’ll be at the festival all weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing old friends and others I haven’t seen in years. There was talk of me vending the event but after consideration I just wanted to hang with all you guys and enjoy myself. I would feel weird trying to shake down some peeps I haven’t seen in years selling stuff. You guys have always supported me so why not just have fun this weekend. It’s not wasted on me and I can’t thank you guys enough. I’m very excited for the weekend. Thanks to the Emissions crew for the opportunity. See ya soon.

I have, to my knowledge the last Sleep poster besides the one I own up for sale at my store. Richmond 2018. I have a couple of scratch and dent ones that I’m probably going to put up for sale but this is the last real deal versions I have from that era. They sold out in one day when I originally put them up. There is the slightest registration shift on the 8 color silkscreen poster but you would have to REALLY look to find it. Number 53 of 97. It’s also signed by me.

There are nods to Pink Floyd’s Animals throughout the poster. Have at it interwebs! Thanks a bunch.

I have a design out on tour with Black Tusk @tcbt who is roaming Europe with Soilent Green @soilentgreennola right now. Black Tusk is in a very rad place with new music out and stretching their legs murdering favorites from their catalog. The height of their powers with other rad stuff to come.
I’m jealous of you Europe right now. For a lot of reasons but mainly because I would have loved to see this tour package here in the states. Obviously Black Tusk and I are thick as thieves but I’ve been Soilent fan for a long time. Killer band.

For the past few months I had been sitting on some artwork releases because of several reasons. I have client work I can’t show until they are ready to release on their end. While juggling client work I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to release some prints I was working on. I wanted to make everything kinda fluid so it would benefit everyone. Client work caught up with, prints ready to ship and me working my next set of paintings, client work and other projects.
Well we ready! The store has been updated with new prints from recent paintings. New 11x16 giclee prints (8.25x12.25 artwork) of a pen, ink,watercolor and acrylic painting on 310 gsm watercolor paper. Prints will fit any off the shelf standard frame and matting. Signed and ready to ship flat.
I’ve also put the Acid Bath posters back up for sale for all of you have been asking where they went.
