BMI Foundation honors the memory of Caroline Bienstock, President and Chief Executive Officer of Carlin America and a former Artistic Advisor to the Foundation. A respected publisher, attorney, and business leader, Caroline was a legendary figure in the music industry. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her and call her a friend.

As her obituary states, “Caroline’s life was shaped by music, but her legacy is larger than any catalog. She helped preserve songs, protect songwriters, and carry forward a family tradition that changed American music. To her family and friends, she leaves something even more personal: the memory of her intelligence, strength, taste, loyalty, and love.”

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association and/or Target ALS, in honor of Caroline’s life and legacy. by @bmifoundation

Her music and spirit enriched the lives of all who knew her, and we are proud to hold a small part of her legacy in the Dolly Parton Songwriters Award. As 2025 Dolly Parton Songwriters Award winner Audrey Ketter shared, “thank you, Dolly, for all you did to help songwriters tell their stories. It is an honor to know you believed in mine.” by @bmifoundation
