Baltimore Supper Series unites people from Black, Jewish, and multiethnic diasporas by building solidarity through food, art, and culture in Bmore.

I had the honor of joining TJ Smith on WBAL Radio to talk about something that matters deeply to me.

Antisemitism, racism, and violence are rising and silence is not an answer.

Black and Jewish communities have marched together, mourned together, and fought for each other’s dignity before, and that calling has not expired. Unity Suppers are one way in how we answer it now, one table, one honest conversation, one relationship at a time. Hatred shrinks when people choose to truly see each other. We have always been stronger together and right now the world needs us to remember that. Friends who are Black+Jewish are especially critical to this alliance as they often experience both. ✨

May we continue to lead with values that promote the health of our greatest humanity: Caring, cooperative communities. We are more alike than one may think.

Our luncheon in the Greater Philadelphia area was about building real relationships, strengthening Black-Jewish connections, and reminding ourselves that unity isn’t symbolic, it’s practiced. With our humanity and values at the forefront, there are great opportunities that await us.

Energized. Motivated. Committed to what comes next. ✊🏾✡️ taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @bmoreunitysuppers

Even the smallest beings show us the way: we move farther, steadier, when we lean into one another. At Leap Forward and the Baltimore Unity Suppers, this is the work. We choose kinship over isolation, remembering that community is how we cross life’s terrain.

Our third Juneteenth Shabbat dinner in Baltimore was a more intimate setting, hosted by Jane West Walsh, our CCFP organizer and advisor in Baltimore.

Good food and good conversation bring good people together to do good things!

This launch of Shabbat dinners was such a success that we are busy planning more for the future! We invite you to stay tuned for announcements on upcoming events where you can join us on our mission to bring people together. We are working towards peace, unity and solidarity between diverse communities, one event at a time!

Our First Unity Luncheon in the Greater Philadelphia area was a SUCCESS! 🎉✨ Folks gathered together to share insights and inspiration of how the Black, Jewish, Black+Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities are unique and similar in many ways! We touched on shared values, traditions, and lived experiences of advocacy. Let’s continue to prioritize being human across our many cultural threads and see ourselves in each other while breaking bread. 💥

We gathered to watch and discuss revolutionary love across our communities. How can we lean into loving ourselves, loving each other and loving our opposition in action? Lots of goodies shared and ideas for action seeded! 🎉
