I’m not nearly eloquent enough to articulate my love and appreciation for my friends. Ups, downs, triumphs, failures, tears and joy… a life well lived is nothing without friends, and man, do I have the best ones. the space or sector doesn’t matter…if you’re committed to raising your downtime to a level of art and connection, you are engaging in intelligent leisure. For @moss.nyc, this means applying a consistent level of dedication and creativity to our gatherings. @bmorgansaks subscribes to a similar mantra. Her ambitious approach towards her own social club, the june, opening later this year in jacksonville florida, eschews simple club categorization yet she makes modern spaces that fulfill both high design and what the community needs. In the second installment of moss salon, we examined connection in all its forms and we learned, through the conversation effortlessly guided by @susanmcp1, why being together in a physical space is the key to making connections and stems from a desire to build true friendships.

Bernice Agatha Morgan. I was fortunate to have my beautiful, incredible grandmother for almost 44 years. She was a determined, purposeful woman who immigrated to America from Jamaica. She raised 4 children on her own. She valued education, kindness, and honesty, and hard work. She provided a life for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren . She was an entrepreneur and business owner in JA, and became a nurse in the US- providing a life for her family far better than the one she experienced, growing up poor, without parents. She was an exceptional cook! She was tough but so loving. I carry her memory, lessons, and spirit with me. I am ever grateful. by @bmorgansaks

A wonderful time spent with baby #1 a few weeks ago up at my alma mater- showing her my old dorm, sharing lunch at the ever delish Pinocchio’s, visiting @hastypuddinginstitute , taking her to her first Head of the Charles, and generally embarrassing her. by @bmorgansaks

Peak Girl weekend! An epic and truly special experience seeing the extraordinary Taylor Swift with the extraordinary @brooke @karaswisher and @katzish And then a SF reunion with my babies, and Barbie-of course!Huge thank you to my amazing bestie @brooke for making it all happen (from the incredible seats, bracelets, glasses, bags, merch- everything was perfect) and bringing this crew together for a weekend I won’t soon forget. taken in Palo Alto, California by @bmorgansaks

So grateful that Liev got to meet his great grandmother, Bernice - who came to this country from Jamaica in the 60s and worked tirelessly to provide her children ( and grandchildren) with education and opportunities. And her laugh! And my beloved Uncle Michael- now also Liev’s beloved Uncle Michael, who is always a source of love, laughter, intelligence and great style. by @bmorgansaks
