Didn’t hit the time I was chasing — training block wasn’t what I wanted it to be, but I trusted the process and crossed the line. Some finishes aren’t about the clock. They’re about remembering where you were and being thankful you can even stand at the start line.

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” — Psalm 9:1

Grateful for every mile, every setback, and a body that fought its way back to running. This is just a checkpoint, not the destination — Ironman 70.3 La Quinta is next on December 6th. taken in Ventura, California by @bms_running_

Motivation Monday

8 months ago I had my most recent MS flare which took away my ability to walk. My first runs were very slow and short but I always had a goal to run a marathon and I finished my first marathon on Sunday. 8 months of training, 5-6 days a week finally paid off when going through the finish line on Sunday.

I truly am blessed to be able to be healthy and run as many do not have this opportunity. Anything is possible when you dig deep and work hard for something you truly want.

2023 Recap-
March 2023- Diagnosed with Lymphoma
April 2023- Diagnosed with ADEM instead of Lymphoma
September 2023- Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis
December 2023- Ran my first half marathon at 1:45

I have decided to make a running/lifestyle page to track progress and show how crazy the human body is.

In September 2023, I had my most recent MS flare up on the right side of my spinal cord where I lost the ability to walk, talk, swallow, and lost most of my vision. After two weeks and thanks to the awesome doctors at UCSD health. I was back on my feet and had to relearn many things that used to be easy.

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon has been on my bucket list for a long time and after my most recent flare up I realized the best time to do that is now. I am 8 weeks out of my first marathon and I have set a goal to run sub 3:30.

I want to show everyone that anything is possible and to not take anything in life for granted as you never know what will happen tomorrow. I am truly blessed that I am back on my feet and able to walk and run.

I will try and post a couple time a week to track my progress and give updates! by @bms_running_

Cold mornings and socks for gloves! 🧤

Week 10 completed… 10 weeks out.

Halfway through… runs are getting longer and more boring, but the sunrises make the early cold mornings worth it. There’s not much fun about training in the cold but someone has to put the miles on. Onto the next week.

Training-
Monday- Rest
Tuesday- 5 miles (easy)
Wednesday- 5 miles (tempo)
Thursday- 1 mile (rest)
Friday- 10 miles (intervals)
Saturday 15 miles (intervals)
Sunday- 10 miles (easy)

Total- 46 miles by @bms_running_
