Black Men United (BMU) stands as a powerful testament to the transformative power of resilience and the unwavering commitment to community. Founded by four individuals who have navigated the challenges of incarceration, BMU has emerged as a beacon of hope for countless underserved communities across the nation. Since 2020, BMU has served 12.5 million individuals, distributing over 100 million pounds of food, and providing $11 million in gifts-in-kind. They’ve delivered over $6 million in disaster relief, supported HBCUs with $3.8 million, sent vital aid to Ukraine, and provided crucial water supplies to Flint and Jackson. BMU has also built strong bridges with the Arab, Latino, Native American, and Chinese communities. These achievements aren’t just numbers; they represent lives touched, burdens eased, and hope restored. Each act of service reflects the profound empathy and dedication that defines BMU. THANK YOU, GARY! ❤️ What we witnessed in Gary, Indiana was the true meaning of community, partnership, compassion, and service. Black Men United extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to the City of Gary, every family who joined us, and the incredible organizations, churches, businesses, community leaders, sponsors, and volunteers who came together for the Gary Storm Relief Community Giveaway. A very special thank you to The Visionaries Initiative, Inc., World Vision, the NAACP, Senator Lakesia Collins, SEIU, S2 Grills, Christmas in the Wards, Rap A Lot 4 Life, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Gary, and the many other partners and supporters who answered the call and helped make this relief effort possible. Together, we were able to put essential supplies, resources, meals, support, and love directly into the hands of families impacted by the storms. This was not about one organization receiving the spotlight. This was about Gary. It was about neighbors helping neighbors, organizations working side by side, and people coming together with one purpose: to serve families when they needed it most. To every family who came out, thank you for allowing us to serve you. To every partner, sponsor, elected official, volunteer, and community leader who contributed, thank you for showing what is possible when we work together. And to the City of Gary, thank you for welcoming us with open arms. Gary, we stand with you. We serve with you. And together, we rebuild. ❤️ #BlackMenUnited #GaryIndiana #GaryStormRelief #CommunityStrong #StrongerTogether taken in Gary, Indiana by @bmuworldwide
