As part of the Mass Awareness Programme, the BNHS–EIACP Centre along with CMD Team organized informative and interactive exhibition stalls at the L&T Power premises in Powai, Mumbai, on 29 June 2026. The stalls were set up to spread awareness about birds and their conservation. 257 participants visited the exhibition stalls.

BNHS–EIACP representative Mr. Yogesh Dhamnaskar, along with members of the CMD Department, interacted with visitors and shared information about avian ecology and bird conservation. They also distributed Buceros newsletters and demonstrated the Birdle mobile application developed under the BNHS–EIACP programme.

As part of the Mass Awareness Programme, BNHS-EIACP, in collaboration with the BNHS Collection Department, organised an educational awareness activity on 24 June 2026 at the BNHS Head Office for students of Vibgyor International School, Goregaon, Mumbai, Maharashtra. A total of 60 students participated in the programme.

During the session, Ms. Pooja Patil from the BNHS Collection Department showcased various preserved specimens of birds, animals, and butterflies. She explained their life cycles, ecological importance, and the need for conserving these species. Subsequently, Mr. Nandkishor Dudhe, BNHS-EIACP, introduced the EIACP Programme and highlighted its objectives and activities. He also distributed knowledge products, including the BUCEROS newsletter, among the participants.

As part of the awareness initiative, all students took the Mission LiFE Pledge and participated in a selfie session with the Mission LiFE selfie board, reinforcing their commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable living.

On June 11, 2026, BNHS-EIACP organized an awareness stall at the Tata Power office premises in Carnac Bunder, Mumbai, as part of the World Environment Day celebrations. The stall received an encouraging response, with more than 153 employees visiting and engaging with the activities. Participants explored various BNHS-EIACP knowledge products and received Buceros newsletters and bird conservation posters.
Mr. Niraj Patel, IT Officer, BNHS-EIACP, along with BNHS-EIACP representatives and interns, interacted with employees and shared information on biodiversity conservation, environmental sustainability, the Birdle App, and the Vulture Data Collection App. The team highlighted the role of citizen participation in conservation initiatives and encouraged employees to contribute to biodiversity monitoring efforts.
The initiative was well received and successfully promoted greater awareness of environmental conservation and sustainable practices among participants. by @bnhs_eiacp

On June 10, 2026, BNHS-EIACP organized an awareness stall at the Axis Bank Ltd. premises in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, as part of the World Environment Day celebrations. The stall attracted an enthusiastic response, with more than 554 employees visiting and engaging with the activities. Participants explored various BNHS-EIACP knowledge products and received Buceros newsletters and bird conservation posters.
Mr. Niraj Patel, IT Officer, BNHS-EIACP, along with BNHS-EIACP representatives and interns, interacted with employees and shared valuable information on biodiversity conservation, environmental sustainability, and the importance of public participation in conservation efforts. BNHS-EIACP participated in the SFC Environmental Awards for Species & Habitats Warriors - 2026 held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai on June 08, 2026.
During the event, BNHS-EIACP set up an exhibition stall showcasing its various knowledge products, including educational publications and awareness materials on biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability.
The exhibition attracted numerous participants and visitors, who interacted with the BNHS-EIACP team and explored the information displayed at the stall. Participants also enthusiastically clicked photographs at the BNHS-EIACP selfie board, helping to spread awareness about environmental stewardship. Buceros Newsletters were also distributed among interested citizens. Total of 647 participants visited the stall. “Naturalist Training Workshop” under the Capacity Building Programme
A one-day “Naturalist Training Workshop” was organized on 07 June, 2026 at the BNHS Conservation Education Centre (CEC), Goregaon from 7.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The programme aimed to enhance participant’s knowledge and skills in birds, mammals, reptiles, and insect species identification and ecology, and responsible ethics in field.
The workshop commenced with 10 participant registration, welcome tea, and an introductory field visit along the Karvi Trail. During the trail, participants recorded 17 bird species including the Rock Eagle-owl and gained practical experience in the identification of local flora and fauna. The field visit also provided insights into effective nature interpretation. Following the trail, participants were introduced to the activities and facilities of the Conservation Education Centre (CEC). An overview of the flora and fauna found within the CEC campus was presented by Mr. Kartheek Thevar, Education Officer, BNHS.
A technical session on Bird Identification and Basic Ornithology was conducted by Mr. Nandkishor Dudhe, Programme Officer, BNHS-EIACP, providing participants with an understanding of bird identification techniques, field observation methods, and fundamental ornithological concepts. This was followed by an introductory session on Mammals, Herpetofauna, and Insects, conducted by Ms. Natasha Girkar, Information Officer, BNHS-EIACP. The session highlighted the diversity, ecological significance, and identification features of these faunal groups, enhancing participants' knowledge of wildlife and biodiversity conservation.
In the afternoon, Dr. Parvish Pandya, Governing Council member of BNHS, conducted an engaging session on Outdoor Ethics, Group Ethics, and Group Leader Ethics, emphasizing responsible behaviour in the field, safety considerations, and leadership qualities required for guiding nature groups.
The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion. The programme successfully strengthened the participant’s knowledge in biodiversity and encouraged greater involvement in biodiversity conservation and environmental education activities. by @bnhs_eiacp
