I learned how to get stubborn grease stains out of wool sweaters today after a catastrophic event that most knitters dread.

While opening a can of chili 🌶️ oil infused sardines the oil projectile vomited all over my sweater.

I didn’t know what to do… and had my husband not been home I don’t know if the story would have ended as well as it did.

Here’s the surprising secret and a must have product to have in hand in case of knit emergencies—

Ballistol & Dawn dishwashing soap.

Here are the step by step instructions that had my white sweater spotless again in only 10 minutes!

Overdyeing some light blue yarn I had in stash because I just *had* to cast on a chestnut brown sweater to go along with a flared skirt I just finished sewing.

Honestly, I never thought of myself as a sewist but this summer I plunged headfirst into it and never looked back.

What I am obsessed with for the fall is the notion of a handmade wool or tweed skirt - very 70s style matched with a handmade sweater.

What could be more chic I thought? Paired with knee-high leather boots and oh my goodness, my heart pitter patters. ❤️❤️❤️

The idea started percolating to do a make along for the fall called ‘ASweater and a Skirt’.

Sew the skirt + knit the sweater=

📜Couture meets the home maker.

I am in the process of forging a collaboration with one of New York City‘s finest fabric houses located in the heart of the Garment District specializing in European textiles.

They were so generous and said that I could feature some of their gorgeous fabrics on my website for my community plus do live online exclusive shopping events where you could choose your fabric for your skirt (or whatever you want to make). … it’s literally the next best thing to shopping in person.

These days it is so difficult to find fabrics outside of big cities. At least that is what I have been finding, especially with the closing of Joanne’s. I’m hoping this could help to bridge the gap and give access to inventory that is usually behind closed doors.

But for now, I am just waiting for my yarn to dry and getting my needles ready.

It’s a sunny, cool Spring Day and a perfect day for breaking out the Coco Bolero, a quick knit that elevates even jeans and a button down shirt.

I knit this out of the Loopy Mango Merino Number 5 and love how soft yet structured it is.

It’s been a retro black and white inspired day for me…

Highlights included knitting on my slip-stitch dress, a remake of a pattern from 1962, finding a vintage black and white necklace by Givenchy in the deep recesses of my closet- a cherished piece from my vintage costume jewelry collection (I thought I had lost this one)…

And an impromptu introduction to the Kiss-lock bag from @coach had me all goose-bumpy…

A jumbo sized coin purse—??? I am in love.
