I’ve been working on a little project called Aventurely, and I’m finally ready to share it.

The idea began while I was watching a conversation between Theo Von and Sam Altman. They were talking about how, as our world becomes increasingly shaped by technology, genuine human experiences may become even more valuable.

That thought stuck with me.

Technology can do some incredible things, but it cannot replace an unexpected conversation, taking the long way home, watching a sunset without reaching for your phone, doing something kind for a stranger, or exploring somewhere simply because you wondered what was there.

Eventually, that idea became Aventurely.

Every day, the site offers one small adventure that we can all do together. Nothing expensive. Nothing requiring weeks of planning. Just simple invitations to get outside, connect with someone, try something unfamiliar, notice what we usually overlook, or slow down for a few minutes.

Some adventures will be meaningful. Some will be a little ridiculous. Some may lead to a story you never expected to have.

At its heart, Aventurely is an invitation to step outside the algorithm and back into your own life.

Life moves pretty fast. Let’s stop, look around, and make sure we don’t miss it.

Aventurely is officially here.

Congrats, Bellsie! I am incredibly proud of you. Not just because of all the hard work you’ve put in, but because of the young woman you’ve become.

You know what you believe, you stand up for what’s right, and you treat people with kindness and respect. Those things matter more than any award or certificate.

You are truly one of a kind, Bellsie. The world ain’t ready for you. I love you more than you’ll ever know. :) taken in McNary High School by @bo.lane

This summer hit different. Some parts were frustrating. Some have been uncertain. Some parts felt new. And some very brief moments were the best I’ve had in a long time.

We had a fantastic summer baseball season, going 16-7. Even in our losses, it felt like we were unbeatable. Most of the time it was just us not playing to our potential.

I managed to sneak away to the beach a few days, some with my family and others by myself. There’s just something about the beach that helps you reset, even if only for a moment.

We’re also launching an entirely new baseball league this fall called The Sandlot (yes, I stole the name). To go with it, I built a snack cart I’m calling “The Snacklot” and leaned on my dad for more advice than he probably wanted to give. It’s going to be a lot of fun, though it has been a lot of work too.

There were so many other moments that made this summer special: my son’s nineteenth birthday, my daughter’s senior pictures, and our twenty-third wedding anniversary.

All in all, this summer had its highs and lows, but it left me grateful. It stretched me and continues to. It pushed me and in many ways I am thankful for it. But in the end, it gave me moments I will not forget. And as summer soon fades into memory, here’s to whatever comes next. by @bo.lane

I spent the day in Newport yesterday, just taking a minute to catch my breath and remind myself that there’s life outside of my everyday bubble. It was a beautiful day, and time well spent. taken in Newport, Oregon by @bo.lane

I absolutely loved this truck. If the whole marriage thing, children thing, adulting thing hadn’t happened, I’d still probably have it today. But we grow up and move on. Maybe someday I’ll get another one like it. by @bo.lane
