High school isn’t always easy, especially when you’re far from home, culture, and everything familiar. What kept us grounded? The shared experiences. The spaces where we felt seen. The people who just get it.

We know what it feels like to walk onto campus carrying brilliance, culture, and so much potential and still somehow feel invisible. We also know the power of finding even one person who truly understands your journey.

Our why is community.
Our why is access.
Our why is legacy.
Our why is each other.

Join us and discover your why.

Meet the Team Behind BSC ✨

Join us in welcoming the brains behind BSC 🧠.

We are so excited to be working with students from a range of different boarding schools to carry out this mission.

We are made up of students and alumni from different boarding schools who came together with a shared commitment: to create real community, real access, and real opportunity for Black and Latino boarding school students 🌎🤎.

Since Fall 2025, we’ve been meeting, planning, organizing, and pushing this vision forward with the same love and passion to carry this mission ahead 💫. This is the heart behind Boarding Scholars of Color (BSC) ❤️.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the culture, history, resilience, and achievements of the Hispanic and Latino communities. ❤️‍🔥
At BSC, we believe representation is more than being seen — it’s having a community that celebrates where you come from and empowers you to shape where you’re going.
Here’s to honoring our stories, amplifying our voices, and celebrating the scholars who continue to make history.
¡Feliz Hispanic Heritage Month! #bsc

On August 28, 1955, 14-year-old Emmett Till was murdered in Mississippi.

His death, and his mother Mamie Till-Mobley’s decision to ensure the world witnessed the violence committed against her son, became a defining moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

Today, we remember Emmett Till, honor Mamie Till-Mobley’s courage, and recognize the responsibility we all share to confront racism, protect young people, and continue learning from history.

Today, we recognize the cultures, histories, contributions, and continued advocacy of Indigenous peoples around the world.

At Boarding Scholars of Color, we believe education should include learning from communities whose stories and experiences have too often been overlooked.

We encourage our community to take time today to listen, learn, and reflect.

Boarding school comes with its own language, and sometimes, it feels like everyone expects you to already know it.

From dorm parents and study hall to seated meals, prefects, and advisors, we are breaking down the terms you will hear throughout your boarding school journey.

Some of the most meaningful parts of boarding school are the friendships built along the way. 🌍

Living, learning, and growing alongside people from different backgrounds can create relationships that last far beyond campus.

Today, we celebrate the friends who become roommates, teammates, study partners, support systems, and lifelong family.

Tag a friend who made your boarding school experience better.

The countdown to campus has officially begun. 📚

Before returning to boarding school, take time to prepare more than just your suitcase.

Reconnect with your support system, organize what you need, reflect on your goals, and give yourself time to mentally reset before the semester begins.

A little preparation can help you return feeling more confident, focused, and ready for what is ahead.
