I realise I mainly took photos of the view. In fact just two interior photos documenting how the house continues to take shape. Last photo is of the shed. A lot of time spent in there too by @boasenose

I’ve been sorting out my travel for my next visit up to the Lake District to stay at, and keep working on, this lovely house with its Lake views. Since I was last there a sauna had been installed which is pretty exciting. Whilst there is more work to be done it’s nice to look over these photos and remember the stories and the thinking behind each and every choice. by @boasenose

Decorating thoughts. Mirrors are always good - they create new views and reflect light so that rooms feel bigger. And if something looks nice why not see it from different angles reflected back at you. @robertkime does this very well. I read recently someone whose taste I greatly respect saying that they don’t like mirrors in rooms. I’m sure there’s a good argument for this as well but I’m not sure I see it

Getting my head back into work. The rain today helps. This is an internal hallway of the farmhouse in Kent that I’ve been working on. Every room of the house needed warming up. Still a work in progress but see last photo to see how far it’s come.

Doors.

A friend pointed out to me yesterday that there is a theme of ‘views through doorways’ on my grid. Of course I can see that she’s right - but it’s been unintentional.
When Minna took this photo on my phone this morning I immediately thought it instagram worthy. With another view through a doorway image it perfectly sums up the mood of this heatwave whilst celebrating three of my loves: Ursa (on the bed), Minna (the photographer) and Elfie (whose tiny, but hard-working bedroom has just gone from blue to pink under her instruction - she chose the colours).

Walls are now Edward Bulmer ‘Mason Pink’ with ‘London Brown’ on the window having previously been F and B Oval Room Blue on the walls with Setting Plaster on the window. It’s been fun to change it up
