(Slightly) updated reel, cuz the previous one was too tight 😎
So last year I decided to take an undefined amount of time off from work, I’d almost worked myself into an early grave doing freelance, creating courses and doing private tutoring at the same time, while also filling 1-2 notebooks per month of sketches. I’d been keeping this kind of pace up for years and I eventually hit the wall, hard.

I decided to take a step back and re-evaluate my life, I’d valued productivity and climbing the career ladder over everything else and it was taking a heavy toll on my mental health.

I started studying Buddhism and spent my time cleaning beaches, connecting with NGOs and helping people in need. Funnily enough these activities were a lot more satisfying than what I’d spent my career pursuing.

Now I’m back freelancing, roughly a year later, but with a vastly different outlook on life. I guess I’ve found a balance between work and life, which is harder than it sounds to find.

After spending the first half of the winter at sea, hiding in different bays and coves from the arctic winds we eventually landed in Gibsons. Here we’ve hid away from the rain and stormy weather at dock, while being able to explore the areas in the southern parts of Howe Sound.

I’ve been bad at posting lately, but here’s some neat smoke I helped animate for the sweet peeps at @meister_hq a while back!

Been working on some really cool stuff lately but unfortunately I won’t be able to share it for some time!

Couldn’t have had a better start as a freelancer than this!

Had the absolute pleasure to work together with the talented people at @buck_design to help them bring the 2D FX to life on the @leagueoflegends Worlds 2021 Show Opening!
Here’s some of the 2D FX I animated on the @imaginedragons x @jidsv section!
Would’ve never though 10 years ago when I was a gamer playing LoL that I’d one day get to be part of it, if only in a small way. Super excited to watch Arcane on Netflix tonight, Fortiche has done an incredible job bringing the show to life!
Huge thanks to @buck_design, @palefolklore and @uomo_tigre 🔥🔥🔥
