Home...the natural habitat for a Bobbin.
Nothing better than a cosy day at home. 300 cushions to squidge into , fairy lights and the smell of vanilla. Home made soup, crusty bread and a warm log burner.
Going out is pants!

My Story, which I need to tell because I hope it inspires others. Here goes.....At 17 my mum died after a long illness. I found myself unwanted by my so called Father and had a family who thought I was somebody else's problem. I felt unwanted and unloved and it totally destroyed my confidence. I was afraid to be myself.
Fast forward to age 20 I meet Mr Bobbin , my saviour.
Finally someone loves me for who i am, I have stability, a home again after being passed from pillar to post.
Big jump to age 38 and my R A diagnosis when my world fell apart and I had a nervous breakdown. Everything I had built up was destroyed.
There's honestly an 18 month period where I can't remember anything. My PTSD, depression and anxiety became so bad I couldn't answer the phone, I just hid inside. This withdrawal from society led to me having aggrophobia. Just thinking of leaving the house made me shake and feel sick.
Then one day my daughter Jenny @jenmcc97 set up instagram on my phone. I remember feeling quite annoyed with her.. Why did I want to talk to people? What had I got to say to interest anyone?
Then something amazing happened.....bit by bit.....wait for it

I discovered people liked me for who I am....I didn't have to pretend!!! My tiny world became bigger, I became braver and im now living my life.....not just existing.

So I want to help other people with anxiety and provide a mentally safe place " Bobbin Bubble" where I can share techniques and skills to help you cope with anxiety. Plus a whole load of Bobbiny nonsense to help shrink the feelings created by anxiety.

"The gift that you never got to give"
This painting represents all of the gifts that i never got to give to my beautiful mum. Every Christmas, every birthday. It never goes away does it? That feeling of wanting to buy gifts for a loved one? So ive found my way of healing that aching void. Ive used that emotion in this piece.

This view is so incredibly special. Not just because its beautiful but because i completely switch off when im looking at it. You know that daydreaming type feeling when your head clears completely and you just feel calm? Im usually mid conversation with Jenny or Mr B when it happens 🤣

Its not so often i show this side of my country living room. Im not really sure why as i love how cosy and cottagey it is. Its a lovely place to read. Not that you could sit on the bench there are so many cushions 🤣

Rightmove just makes it too easy! You can view homes without leaving the sofa. Ive seen a place i love, i know i could make beautiful. Im in the process of weighing up the pros and cons. 🤪🤪 Mr B is hiding 🤣🤣🤣

So proud of myself creating this super cute sofa for Posie Pickles. Everything was right about this dog bed except the colour. I really needed it to be more Bobbin and pretty for my little pickle. Ive sworn alot, probably used up my annual quota 🤣🤣🤣 but i did it. Xx

How gorgeous is this beautiful natural pansy wreath? handmade by my clever daughter @jenscrochetcupboard. vanilla, soft pink and plum shades just blend together. We've called this colourway Crumble as it reminds us of crumble and cream pudding. . A few more will be available soon, but not this one! This one is all mine.
