This is a hands-on role at the heart of the art centre — working closely with our artists, arts workers and team across studio life, creative development, exhibitions and projects.

Today I finished up at the most wonderful Maitland Regional Art Gallery where I worked in a team that continues to champion artists and the voices and stories of many.

While this is a sad day for me to leave the Maitland community and this warm, creative, amazing team, I am very excited for what’s ahead. In the new year, I’ll head out to join the team @mimili_maku_arts to say I’m excited about this is a complete understatement. Mimili Maku Arts is the cultural, creative, and social heart of its community on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in north-west South Australia and home to many incredible artists. Before I head off to Mimili, I’ll be working on a project at the University of Newcastle Library developing a curatorial strategy for the library collection. It feels so right to be working on this project at this particular time where the agency and importance of cultural and learning institutions feels critical.

Big big love to my colleagues, to all the artists I have had the joy to work with at Maito and to my friends at Mindaribba. Most importantly to the incredible team at MRAG - Shine on legends!! by @bobbsey

The first few days of a massive couple of months for us here @maitlandregionalartgallery - we are in the process of moving most of our collection housed in the beautiful Valerie James room onto the top floor exhibition spaces. This will let us do some restoration work to the store and gives us an opportunity to have an open collection out on the floor so everyone can get a squiz at what’s in the cupboards! It’s super backstage and on view - There’s nothing curatorial about the hang I just did with @indeah_clark @lindentrescott and @farrell.cheryl and to paraphrase @nellartist it gets to be a fun dogs Brekky which is a bit of a vibe. This massive project could only have happened with the planning and brains of our collections lead @farrell.cheryl 👑

We reckon Mud to Masterpiece is our most ambitious install to date (running a close second to Crownland). Our exhibition design team are the absolute 💣- the creative flex to go big with ideas and the smarts to make it all happen - still in awe of this curved screen expertly designed and built in house by @nathan_keogh_art and @tomzagami and mapped and teched out (I think that’s a word) by @hollyferal
