A thirty something PR agency executive Satoko Nishida ( Kasumi Arimura) had been in an affair with a salesman at the same office. With the relationship losing its spark and the salesman’s wife finding out, Satoko begins her narrative on relationships from a hospital bed.

After running into her classmate at a clinic, high schooler Satoko Nakai ( Kashun Himeno) is adorably infatuated; spurred into writing by her teacher, she begins a tale of her adolescent crush.

With her youngest son finishing school, a homemaker Satoko lijima (Hikari Ishida) who loved packing bento boxes now finds time to finally follow her long-cherished dream of writing.

Set in Tokyo, not far from some of the trendiest districts; are their spirits intertwined in an ethereal realm? Enmeshed with loads of humour, the parallel lives of three women at different stages of their life.

A five hour train trip from Seoul takes Tae-ju (Park Han-sol) to a coastal town in the Gangwon Province.

She’s getting away from some of the toxic social situations, away from the gossip mongers and away from some of the rumours that choke her.

Running into a psychic who can foretell, the first session cautions her to steer clear of men of all types. Man-hyeok (Kim Woo-kyum) is the talkative and whimsical psychic with a wacky humour.

In a delightful yet surprising development, during the second session his foretelling conveys that she would cross paths with a man most likely to be her destined partner. Does he artfully coax her out of her shell?

Delicately woven stories have been carefully devised over the years to hide the grim realities of their family including the mystery behind his father, Raita (Motoki Fukami).

The adolescent Kiita (Ruhito Okra) who lives with his blind mother Hanae (Yuka Itaya) is now accustomed to the elaborate stories and fanciful excuses.

As Kiita’s voice begins to crack, he ventures out with his childhood friend and classmate Daiya (Konosuke Harada) into some of the distant neighbourhoods. Not much later at some of the trendiest districts of Tokyo, he encounters live music and Tokyo’s indie rock scene.

In this coming-of-age story, as Kiita explores the indie rock music scene with friend Maina (Sayu Kubota), a fascinating curiosity is kindled.

Hyemi (Jung Min-ju) loves dancing to K-pop, especially with her best friend Eun-woo (Kim Tae-yeon). Not surprisingly, she seeks the coveted front-center spot of the school’s dance performance team.

A hollow, gut-wrenching scenario develops as she finds out that her best friend is dating her crush.

There’s so much more happening, Hyemi’s not too happy about her mother developing an interest in a social media influencer. Elsewhere, there’s a wardrobe malfunction during a performance.

Set in Yangsan-si (South Korea), not far from the heritage monasteries, Hyemi and Eun-woo’s uneasy rapport of strained interactions evolves. Could they cultivate a deeper connection?

director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, Munetaka Aoki, Masahiro Motoki

Ryota Miyadate, Masaki Suda

Kokurojo (film) premiere,
Festival de Cannes

Murashige (Masahiro Motoki), a samurai who had earlier worked for Oda Nobunaga, had later revolted against the feudal lord.

Daimyo Oda Nobunaga is involved in the elaborate process of unifying Japan with massive battles and hostile takeovers. Set in the 16th century during the Azuchi era, a hugely transformative and volatile period in its progression towards unity.

In an astounding development, there’s a slaying of a samurai at the Arioka Castle; more peculiarly, there’s no one who can solve the murder mystery. What’s the role Murashige’s wife Chiyoho (Yuriko Yoshitaka) presents in the development?

Irrefutably a historical drama as Murashige is forced to exploit the acuteness of Kanbei, a samurai warrior who was sent to the dungeons by Murashige himself.

The trappings of a thriller as Daimyo Oda Nobunaga and his forces are closing in on the Castle… An exhaustive historical mystery drama evolves!

During the Second World War in the year 1942, Mila (Doroteja Nadrah) and her brother Hanzi (Oskar Haag) join the anti-fascist resistance unit.

A twenty year old Mila is already leading a team, making extremely crucial decisions in the harsh terrain. Their partisan team is based in the forests and highlands of the Karawanken mountain range; there are make-or-break situations where lives are at stake.

At the end of the war, when her family returns to the Jaun Valley region in Carinthia (Austria), Mila faces a whole new scenario. Should she assimilate? Should those deeply ingrained political and social convictions be held onto?

High school graduate Raissa is all set to attend Caltech in Pasadena (California) whilst best friend Jo will stay back in the Philippines.

On the eve of their parting, Jo stumbles upon an enchanted ‘sand dollar’ at the beach which opens a portal into the depths of the Nakali - a forgotten fantasy island.

Set in the nineties where Batibat, the ancient tree-dwelling female spirit offers Raissa and Jo an escape route, only if they relinquish ‘memories of their entire friendship’.

Visually vibrant as more than a few mythical characters and creatures like the Kapre, Duwende, Sarimanok and Kataw come into the picture. A whimsical and impulsive animated adventure until the friends find their footing?

A young Amadeo invents a photographic camera in the early 1830s in Brazil. Set during the colonial era, his invention became a radical tool in the abolitionist movement, especially since it facilitated the liberation of enslaved men and women.

Interestingly, Amadeo is in a relationship with the daughter of a powerful baron, a love story that defies impossible odds?

The baron, an unyielding feudal lord and dominant estate owner, has views that are a huge contrast to the sentiments of Amadeo and his associates of the movement.

Bound with a delicate background score and evocative voices from across the Brazilian countryside, an animated historical drama unfolds…

Ellie is a humanoid alien that descends upon planet Earth. Ellie seemingly loves some of Earth’s trending culture mascots, and idol aesthetics. She loves pop music, is mildly eccentric and flips the routine of Kento who is tasked with managing her outlandish plots.

A frenzied battle-royale where Stella (Yoroshiku Girl) competes in the ‘Queen of Butterflies’ - a virtual-reality battle with personalized weaponry. Stella teams up with an unlikely combatant Nanashi, which only uncovers the grim conspiracy surrounding a missing pop idol.

Set in a gloomy post-apocalyptic future where the human species has perished, a vampire Ayame and a gang of formerly human (now vampire girls) continue to exist in a realm without prey and no society to hide from.

At their pristine Victorian manor, they sift through artifacts and remnants of mankind’s legacy.

Riku (Ritsu Otomo) accepts an offer to anonymously write a screenplay on behalf of a renowned screenwriter. Little does he realize that this will inadvertently spark a fascinating reunion with two of his former classmates.

The vivacious Kei (Mai Matsumoto) was the love interest to both Riku and Hamada (Ōsuke Tokunaga).

After ten long years, the unresolved fallout of their youth still lingers. Their romantic triangle remains hopelessly tangled, bound with unexpressed longings and smoldering petty jealousies.

Acclaimed screenwriter Hamada has deadlines to be met. Set along some of the quieter neighbourhoods of Tatebayashi (Japan), Kei adorably complicates Riku’s elaborate effort to anonymously write the script for Hamada…
