I just published my first book, Dreamers in a Drift State! Here’s a little video explaining how it came to be and what it’s about. The book is live in the link in my bio and below:

I’ve been working on it for 6 years now, and it’s finally done. It’s a collection of short stories and poems that tell realist stories from rural, blue collar America. It would mean the world to me if you checked it out. I’m selling the book at cost, and I’m not making any money off it, I just want you all to read it. Below is the official description of the book:

It’s in the moments when the world goes quiet, when no one is watching, that the true characteristics of humanity reveal themselves. This book is a collection of poems and short stories that find themselves unfolding in moments like these.

There’s no clear beginning, middle, or end. A moment unfolds, life happens, we get a glimpse, and then we are taken to a new moment. Bobby wrote this book to tell the stories of an America outside of the one we watch on TV and see in New York and Los Angeles. We so often hide our humanity in our closets, especially as Americans. This is a call to embrace the imperfection, the hurt, the rawness of it all.

This book is about stepping into the trials of another and walking away better because you did. Bobby crafts realistic portraits of struggling middle class American heroes on a quest for the promised “American Dream.”

The stories are real, raw, and leave you wanting more. Inspired deeply by the works of Raymond Carver, Charles Bukowski, and Ernest Hemingway, Bobby gives the reader a glimpse at his characters’ world, and then takes them away.

Bobby believes storytelling is at the core of everything humans do. These stories will leave you with new lenses to view the world and its infinite characters stumbling through the darkness.

Kat and I wanted to go on a serendipitous adventure while I visited her for a weekend in Seattle!

We settled on throwing a party with 24 hours of prep where every invitee had to bring the most creative person they knew. We called it a “Chainlink⛓️‍💥⛓️ Party” with every person representing another link on the chain of creative people.

After 9 months of volunteering through the Peace Corps in Liberia, and 3 months of travelling Asia, we’ve officially returned to the US.

Enjoy a glimpse into some of our favorite memories. We’re very excited to catch up with all the friends and family we’ve missed so much, so please reach out :)

1. 🇱🇷our friends Mark, Emmanuel, and Albert who brought us so much joy and worked as Therese’s coteachers
2. 🇱🇷the host family we lived with during our first 2 months in Liberia
3. 🇱🇷a normal day after work hanging out on our porch with the community children
4. 🇱🇷many students from Therese’s school after the conclusion of summer classes
5. 🇱🇷a common Liberian home with hand washed laundry drying out
6. 🇱🇷our two very best Peace Corps friends, Dee and Ben
7. 🇱🇷at our favorite bakery in our home city Ganta with owner Stanley and his wife
8. 🇱🇷we brought Spikeball to Liberia and it was a big hit! We often play at Therese’s school campus
9. 🇱🇷Bobby got extremely close with the children of one of the employees at his health clinic. He really misses Prayer, Brice, Freeman, and Odelle (left to right)
10. 🇱🇷hanging out with our landlord and friend Prince and his wife at the bakery
11. 🇰🇷Bobby found some table tennis clubs to practice his game at in Korea and Japan
12. 🇻🇳enjoying some pho on the streets of Hanoi, Vietnam
13. 🇻🇳 our motorbike tour group on the Ha Giang loop in Northern Vietnam. We really loved our motorbike drivers Van and Bao
14. 🇮🇳reunited with our college friend @simarsvibes in a suburb of New Delhi
15. 🇮🇳we got to “play Holi,” the festival of colors, in Mumbai before seeing Martin Garrix perform
16. 🇮🇳we went white water kayaking on the holy Ganges River in Rishikesh
17. 🇯🇵after meeting our new friend @atsstagram in India, we got to hangout again in Kyoto with him and his girlfriend @peach____10
18. 🇯🇵luckily we timed our trip just right to see the Japanese cherry blossoms
19. 🇹🇭we enjoyed the incredible 3 day Thai New Year water fight (Songkran) in Chiang Mai
20. 🇹🇭we stumbled upon a beautiful padel court on Koh Samui where we made friends and played with the owners

My friend Myles and I investigated what it’s like to work the night shift. What we learned fascinated us!

I’m obsessed with this format of 10-20 minute investigative mini documentaries. I hope to perfect the art of this form of storytelling over time, so your feedback and thoughts on this, my first proper piece, are super appreciated.

🚨IRONMAN RACE ANNOUNCEMENT😳
So my buddy @noahkjacobs and I made the questionable decision to try and race an impromptu “Asynchronous” Ironman with just more than a month of training. 26.2 mile run. 112 mile bike. 2.4 mile swim. It all starts with the Atlanta Marathon in 20 days👀
