The wait is over: Bobby Previte‘s «Second Arrow» is out today!!!

Previte explores the nexus between notated and improvised music on his first small-band recording in some 20 years, together with stunning pianist Angelica Sanchez, the exciting guitarist Wendy Eisenberg, cross-genre woodwind hero Matt Bauder, and his long time collaborator, the legendary bassist Jerome Harris.

Beautifully recorded as they played their first notes at state-of-the-art studio Firehouse 12, «Second Arrow» documents the raw energy and spontaneity of a band on the edge, navigating and ultimately subverting Previte’s new, seductive, and, as always surprising, music.

Angelica Sanchez – piano, fender rhodes
Wendy Eisenberg – electric & acoustic guitar
Matt Bauder – tenor saxophone, flute, bass clarinet
Jerome Harris – electric bass guitar
Bobby Previte – trap drums

🎶 TONIGHT! Jazz! Bobby Previte Second Arrow Quintet

If you dig Jazz, you won’t want to miss this incredible quintet!!

Drummer @bobbyprevite, bassist Jerome Harris, pianist Angelica Sanchez, guitarist Wendy Eisenberg, and Matt Bauder on woodwinds. Each artist is so talented in their own, right, but when they come together… 🤯

👉 “The music for SECOND ARROW is probably the most ensemble dependent music I have ever presented—just a series of signposts for these particular improvisers, directing them to the clearest path of connection.”

Here’s what to know for tonight’s show!

Last night, my Ramapo Digital Performance students crushed their final concert. Tonight, second arrow at the Van Dyck in Schenectady and Tomorrow at the Local in Saugerties. Then on the plane to play Bitches Brew at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. I’m out of retirement for a moment. Lol. @elbphilharmonie @thevandyck @thelocalsaugerties @ramapocollegenj by @bobbyprevite

@bandcamp Friday- still time to snag the first release of my 6 record solo series on instruments I don’t “really” play. Part I - Parlor organ, or as @jamiesaft , who mastered it calls it, the “Jesus”
organ. Don’t ask me why. by @bobbyprevite
