Starlight is the first song I wrote when we moved to CA over 12 years ago. We had just left behind our favorite city ever, Portland OR, where Lindsey and I started our life together and where we had an amazing community of family and friends. I was feeling pretty vulnerable and lonely as well as second guessing a lot of things… I remember these words one day just literally falling out of me in a single moment.

Fast forward to a couple years later and it was released on a live record with a lot of big guitars and synths and drums. I’ll always be so grateful for the way God used it, but I often wonder if I was maybe supposed to keep it to myself, at least for a little while longer, like a simple prayer or journal entry. Either way, it will always hold a special place in my heart and I’ll always hear it in my head quiet and stripped back like this. by @bobbystrand
