Thanks to @ironladyfatima , i visited @villagedesartsdakar recently and had the chance to discover the work of some incredible artists, including Amadou Makhtar Mbaye ( @titambaye ), creator of 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘪̈ 𝘝, and Assane Dione, whose beautiful painting "𝘚𝘶𝘯̃𝘶 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘦" truly caught my eye.

It’s an honor to witness such talented artists celebrating and elevating African culture through their art and creativity. ❤️

Proud to represent Fulani culture for this shooting alongside the many different cultures that make up Senegal. 🇸🇳✨

« Les lieux ont des âmes et une carte postale est faite pour l’immortaliser. »

Ce concept m’a toujours fascinée. Pouvoir contempler une image et revivre des folklores, des senteurs, une musique, une fraîcheur, un temps révolu mais si présent. Dépeindre les souvenirs et les revivre maintes fois aux douces caresses des années d’antan...

J’aurais aimé emprunter l’âme d’un collectionneur lorsqu’il trouve une pièce rare, ce frissons et cette émotion particulière qui le transporte si loin dans son imaginaire. C’est un amour si profond et si simple qui lie ces êtres dans un fragment de vie.

Alors j’ai dit oui à l’amour de Dakar, Oui à l’amour que transporte le temps et à l’amour que célèbre les années d’avant.

Le noir à Dakar : discret mais puissant, il impose sa présence avec élégance. Profondément adaptable, il est celui qui s’accorde à toute tenue, des habits aux accessoires. Il est aussi une philosophie de vie, celle de la responsabilité et de la ténacité.

Pour l’incarner, j’ai choisi le vintage, mémoire des jours anciens où les facteurs livraient des lettres écrites à la main, pleines d’âme et de tendresse.
Aujourd’hui, je rends hommage à cette couleur, à cette ville et à ces gestes nobles qui portaient l’amour et la vie à chaque petit pas.
