Sometimes opportunity doesn’t knock. Sometimes it hits you with five missed calls.
A few weeks ago, I was mindlessly scrolling through Instagram and TikTok when I stumbled across a few loops from different creators.
I wasn’t looking for samples. I wasn’t trying to start a project.I was just scrolling. But something about those sounds made me stop.
One idea led to another. I took the loops into the studio and started experimenting. Layer by layer, the beat started taking shape. The more it came together, the more excited I got. I knew I had to send it to somebody.
So I called JUST6 BLXCK. No answer. I called again. Nothing. Again. Nothing.
Five missed calls later, I was convinced this guy was ghosting me 😂
Turns out he was at work.
When he finally called back, I sent him the beat pack. His response was immediate.
“Yeah. I’m writing to this.”
No hesitation. No overthinking. Just instinct. Just as I expected.
Over the next couple of weeks, what started as a random moment on social media became a full mixtape recorded at @bourdillonstudios on Just6 days off work.
Fun fact: When we were trying to name the project, Just6 suggested BOBZ CALLED. I actually laughed and told him no - it sounded like a bad joke. I was so reluctant to accept it, but as we kept working, it hit me: it wasn’t just a joke. It was destiny.
The more I thought about it, the more it felt like the project had named itself. Because that’s exactly how this story started.
A beat.
A phone call.
Five missed calls.
A new friendship.

An opportunity that could have easily been ignored.
BOBZ CALLED isn’t just the title of a mixtape.
It’s proof that some of the biggest moments in your life start from the smallest interruptions.
Never ignore opportunity.
