I am now a CFII and my time at ATP Flight School has quickly come to an end. Boy, how quickly it flew by.

I am so blessed by everyone who taught me along the way, if they were my primary instructor, just a fellow student, or random people at the airport; having smart people helping you succeed makes daunting tasks much easier.

I am also very thankful for my parents who were quickly on board with the idea of quitting my full time job to pursue a career as an Airline Pilot and allowed me to move back home during my time at school. I owe so much to them and their support.

I am excited to start my next step in this career as I look for a job in flight instruction and see where that takes me.

ATP got me done 1 month ahead of schedule, and has kept me at a great pace throughout the program. I was able to get my Instrument Rating, Commercial License, Commercial Multiengine, Certified Flight Instructor Rating, and my Instrument Instructor add on in less than 8 months.

The deadline to create a Men’s Softball team for Clinton Parks and Rec was April 22nd. The morning of, I decided I wanted to put together a team. I asked around the office and the plant at AvFab and it seemed like no one wanted to play or everyone was already on a team. So I put a post out in the “Clinton, MO Facebook Group” asking if anyone was interested in playing softball with me. I had a few responses but not as many as I was hoping for. I was pretty nervous it wasn’t going to happen. But then messages just started coming in “Hey some guys at the fire station were saying you’re putting a team together” “Hey I played a little baseball in high school I would love to play” “Hey I would love to play and I have a few friends that would be interested”

I finally got our 10 required together and submitted a team with a team name I felt was fitting. I didn’t realize everyone else in the league had sponsors that would pay for it so I asked some of the guys for money, some of them paid, some paid a little extra and then I paid the $200 entry fee for the team and we were in.

Since then, only 4 pictured were part of the original group, we were always short players so guys brought their girlfriends dad’s, their uncle’s, their friends who had never played, anything to keep us from forfeiting a game. We probably saw at least 20 different players come through our team.

Tonight we played our last regular season game, and we played our best game yet. Every game has been fun but this one really felt great. We lost every single game of the season but we have some really great memories to look back on. As my time in Clinton comes to an end, I will always remember Summer 2024 and the Clinton, MO Parks and Rec Men’s Adult Softball Team, “The Strangers”. taken in Clinton, Missouri by @bobplunket
