Today, I choose to combat hate by staying on my path - I grew up in the Carolinas where the KKK was alive and well, seeing the confederate flag was common place. I was kicked out of one of those stores as a kid as well for no reason. But to be killed with no conviction is truly beyond sickening.

So in the midst of the fury I feel, I will continue to spread honesty, love, joy, hoping to inspire others to do same on an even greater level.

The hatred of black people should be studied and diagnosed like any other mental illness, cause that’s exactly what it is.

I love the desert. It stimulates my mind like no other place — and no, I’m not talking about substances.

Maybe it’s the otherworldly cacti, or the bizarre plants I can’t even name. But every time I go, something deep inside me wakes up. Something ancient. Something pure. I feel it move through my veins, into my mind, and suddenly ideas and visions start bursting out of nowhere.

If you’re still reading, I basically just described how the idea for the song we’re releasing today, “Till the Sun Goes Down,” came to life.

The song started as one of those visions that found me in the desert. It’s about dancing freely in the sunlight, loving a good day party, and celebrating life while we’re here.
