‼️ EATING DISORDER TRIGGER WARNING ‼️
This post discusses eating disorder behaviors, restriction, purging, and body image.

115 lbs — 2020

This was the lowest weight I’ve ever been.

After going through a situationship breakup in high school, I fell into a really deep depression and unintentionally lost 70 pounds.

Then I started noticing all the compliments I received because I was losing weight.

And that changed everything.

I became terrified of gaining the weight back. I started restricting myself to one meal a day and exercising excessively because I felt like I had to “earn” the food I ate.

What started as unintentional weight loss slowly became something I felt I had to control.

120 lbs

This was probably the happiest I had ever been with the way I looked and the number on the scale.

But what people couldn’t see was what was happening behind that number.

I was still restricting my calories and obsessively counting my macros, constantly trying to maintain my weight or lose even more.

I thought I had finally figured out how to control my body.

I didn’t realize how much control food had over me.

130 lbs

When I started seeing the number go up, I became scared.

I felt like I was losing control, and my relationship with food became even more unhealthy. What made it even more confusing was that people were telling me I looked “better” and “healthier.”

But behind what people could see, I was struggling more than ever.

This was when I started struggling with bulimia.

I was restricting, intentionally starving myself and disguising it as “fasting.” I was also purging after eating and relying on laxatives.

I was hurting myself while convincing myself I was doing what I needed to do to stay thin.

135 lbs

I continued down the same path.

The number on the scale kept becoming more important than how I was actually feeling.

I was constantly thinking about my body, what I had eaten, what I shouldn’t have eaten and how I could make up for it.

Looking back, I realize how exhausting it was to spend so much of my life thinking about food and my body.

135 lbs

At this point, I was caught in a cycle.

Restrict.
Feel guilty.
Try to compensate.
Repeat.

Real me vs. the version I usually post.

Left: no edits.
Right: the version I’d normally smooth, tighten, brighten.

Same body.
Same day.
Same me.

I’m not where I want to be yet —
but I’m choosing to show reality instead of illusion.

Happy Ash Wednesday! ✝️🤍

Today marks the beginning of 40 days of prayer, fasting, and discipline.

This isn’t about dieting.
It’s about denying the flesh.
It’s about choosing structure over comfort.
Spirit over craving.
Obedience over impulse.

I’m sacrificing refined sugars and Diet Coke— because I crave something sweet after almost every meal, and my Diet Coke habit is very real.

Discipline isn’t punishment.
It’s devotion.

40 days. Let’s grow.

Laziness is my biggest struggle.
Not people. Not circumstances. Not setbacks.
Just the version of me that wants comfort over growth.
And she’s not winning anymore.
