POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
These last few years have been the most transformational of my life. And to think that I’ve transformed without any physically spiritual community space to connect into is empowering. For me, it has always been yoga centres. I had to go deep within with all the lockdowns and subsequent losses of yoga meeting places and head to the river. And now, having come out the other side, new spaces are available to me again.

My dear friend Adri has just opened one in east Vancouver (it’s incredible - healing community space). So, my first local in-person workshop will be happening this coming Sunday, the 29th, from 5-7 p.m. Zoom is excellent, and I’ve loved teaching on it on Wednesday nights. Still, the ability to assist you in opening your heart/body/mind in person with hands-on-assists (with consent) is paramount. I’ve listened to your requests, Funcouver! Please share widely with your tribe so we may rise up and fall down (metaphorically) in person together!

Tonight’s Zoom Pranayama Class is all about connection. Conversely, I will be philosophizing a bit about the disconnect of things like addiction and leaking power… And speaking to what calls in right relationship with the people, places, and things we consciously and subconsciously choose to be a part of our lives. Time travel will be involved! Depth of breath too!

Thought experiment questions I found in the river for tonight’s class:

Where is your calm, abiding presence located in your body?

What conditions must be met for you to find the sweet spot flow state within?

What path must you walk from your head to your heart to connect with the various parts of You?

Please message me with your curiosity!

Last 7pm Zoom Wednesday class for October is tonight. November classes will be 6pm PST.

In Love,

Well hello! I’m back to sharing my Zoom pranayama offerings starting in October again. Excited! These last six months have been an awesome investigative integration into my current sense of Self. So much to share… And yet, I am speechless.

In this exploration, I have cultivated some fantastic relationships in my Compassionate Inquiry Therapist Course (which I am taking for a second time) and dropped ever farther into regular therapy with my incredible therapist, who is just as paradoxical as I am. My most favourite Guide has been someone who has become a great friend over these last months. @gurnimitsingh_, I bow at your feet in humbled gratitude for your devotion. To say you inspire me is an understatement. Thank You for helping awaken within me what was asleep under the suffering. My soul sings in surrender in witnessing your commitment to Spirit.

The spring and summer have seen much growth and death in my worlds, with a burgeoning and healthy desire to facilitate people’s return to their True Selves. So, my all-levels pranayama power classes on Zoom will restart in October, on Wednesday nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. weekly, until Bali calls me back in February. Would You like to join?

In-person workshops to come as well. Kamloops on my birthday, September 28th… 🤗

I will not tell you what to do, but open doors with questions.

I will love and respect you with my Presence.

I will accept you as you are while exploring what excites and scares the future for you.

I will use healthy and appropriate self-disclosure to cultivate trust and relatability (without making it about me).

I will be authentic without bypassing my feelings or reality.

And last but not least, I will create a safe space to land where you can do your inner work.

I have faith in You and your Path. ❤️ by @bogeysattva

Four days into my trip to Puerto Vallarta, bombs started going off around the city… and somehow, I’ve never felt more alive.

Jeepers. What a wild world we’re living in right now, eh? Hold on for the ride, my Loves. Something’s telling me we’re just getting started…

There’s dark humor in the fact that I chose this place as a bastion for Bogey growth. My list was ~ clean ocean swims, vibrant culture, and a world-class gym to follow doctor’s orders and rebuild stability around old injuries. And oh ya one more = Somewhere super safe. Teehee. 🤓

Sunday morning I crushed a 7 a.m. workout and rushed to watch the EPIC gold medal hockey game. By the third period we started smelling burning rubber and metal. News trickled in as I left, after overtime (3 on 3 is weird on such big ice, no?).

Walking home, I turned a corner and found burnt out cars and buses in the street. A motorbike with two cartel members screamed past — faces full of rage and fear flew along in desperate retreat.

Strangely, I wasn’t scared. One of my best friends said it was because I have never been in a situation like that before… Could be shock. Maybe privilege! What I have felt instead is a deep, growling gratitude — a chest full of fiery love that keeps growing every day. 🔥

Sometimes it feels like I might explode from it. Not in a bad way. It’s just really Big. I really hope it doesn’t wear off!

Anywho long story short. I Am Safe. Just affected in ways I am finding to be enriching and emotional. Lucky me!

Please know that I cherish and miss you, wherever and whoever you are.

May these dark times reconnect our human family like never before.

Strange how chaos can remind us what really matters. Chaos being the nature of The Universe…

I wish for safety.
I pray you have enough.

Something wonderful happened this last year…

I made music with my best friend — and we’re putting it out into the world.

Mike, I can’t thank you enough for your heart, vision, and unwavering support through this process.

You set out to make an EP (@chick_tyson on streaming spots) and I got to be part of it — singing on five of the six tracks. You created space for me to play with my voice, grow (on multiple levels), experiment, and feel like an artist again.

This whole thing — jamming, writing, laughing, debating (I cherish healthy pushback so we don’t enter the echo chamber ego of unhealthy self-concern), pushing through blocks, philosophizing about life — has been a healing experience unto itself.

I didn’t know how much I needed a creative project like this. And I didn’t know how much I needed someone like you to believe in me through it.

To me, this EP is more than music. It symbolizes deep friendship, trust, and the magic that happens when we say yes to the muse.

Thank you, Brother, for helping me find my heart fire again. I Love You.

❤️🖤❤️

Okee dokee… I’m back, kind of. 😅

Here’s what’s up:
I’ve decided to take a step back from breathwork, for now.

I know some of you came into my world through that work, and I’m grateful for every single connection. Breathwork has been a powerful part of my life — it cracked me open, taught me how to feel, and brought me into a deeper relationship with myself and others.

But lately… It’s just not feeling like the thing anymore. I’ve been feeling out of alignment, trying to build a brand or coach identity around it. I love facilitating, but I don’t love the part where I need to post all the time (darn algorithms) and push myself to be a “breathwork guy.”

So for now, I’m pressing pause for the foreseeable future (sorry, Autumn/Winter Wednesday Zoom class attendees!). I’ll still hold space one-on-one here and there. Perhaps I’ll jump in as a guest facilitator when it feels right (or a yoga studio that does all the marketing). But I’m no longer trying to “build something” out of it.

Thank you for all the support, deep exhales, vulnerable shares, and trust over the past seven years. It meant so much.

Let’s see where the road leads next… I am pretty sure it’s musical (note the new music track to this post)!

I will never begin to know your path. Each one of us is just figuring this walk of life out as we grow along to a sovereign song that only you are.

And I Am, too, in my own weird way.

We Are One~Love, If…

We connect with our deepest roots, sitting with what is & observing the ache for what isn’t.

Trust and communication are the bedrock of our journey. As we build trust within ourselves, we pave the way for open and honest communication, fostering a sense of reassurance and security.

We can create safety from within & and throughout every community via the depths of inward prayer & breathwork. These practices help us connect with our inner selves and foster a sense of peace and unity. With open eyes around the heart, we can unite every culture together.

Despite our diverse values, we share a common desire to be respected, sovereign, & whole. This shared understanding fosters a sense of connection & unity.

So, what shadowy stones should we peek underneath in our unconscious minds? This question invites us to explore the hidden aspects of ourselves that often lie beneath the surface—our fears, desires, & unresolved conflicts. Digging deeper can reveal insights & bring clarity, allowing for personal growth and understanding. What hidden elements might you find if you took the time to reflect?

B E L I E F S
E X P E C T A T I O N S (unsaid sometimes)
E M O T I O N A L  I N T E L L I G E N C E

These are a few areas where we can misunderstand each other & ourselves.

Our journey towards peace & understanding begins with self-communication. Let’s inspire each other to communicate with ourselves & others, fostering hope and inspiration.

Tonight is the last Wednesday night Zoom class for the autumn/winter season 6-730 pst. The theme is about being curious - the antithesis of judgment.

If funds are low, please pay me with poetry.

One on One is still my favourite. Reach out if you feel the call to drop as deep as you feel safe.

Please let me know how You Are.

I Love You. Just As You Are.

The legs I always wanted are on a shorter man’s body, not mine. But in accepting this, I’ve found a new kind of beauty in my own body.

The ears I wanted are also not mine.

The confidence I so desperately desired lay dormant underneath my distracted and divisional insecurities and fears that I had yet to be conscious of. Otherwise known as getting in my own way.

My own emotions were ~ de-pressed ~

I needed to learn the lessons from every angle before they started to be integrated and embodied. It only took me four and a half decades to know what to do and what not to do to cultivate my intuition!

What is my most significant lesson I am integrating?

Play.

More.

More Play (expressed) = More Joy.

More Sadness (expressed) = More Joy.

More Anger (expressed) = More Joy.

You See Where I’m Going…

Do you feel safe enough to lean into the pain?

I haven’t arrived into some flow state. I’ve created a safe place in my heart and head to experience the entirety of my own feelings. Feeling sad or angry is okay; expressing it can lead to a more profound sense of joy.

The flow state, a term often used in psychology and personal development, is the feeling of being fully immersed in a task or experience, to the point where time seems to stand still. For me, it’s about feeling my feelings as they arise, without judgment or resistance.

And so it is—tonight’s Zoom breathwork class (with me at 6-7:30 pm PST!) is all about acceptance (and what gets in the way). We’ll explore how to accept and express our emotions, including Joy, Sadness, and Anger, in a safe and supportive environment. I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery and emotional well-being.

Some say that the sun is God, and my body wholeheartedly agrees.

Since I haven’t been able to travel this winter, I’ve started scampering to my south-facing window every time the sun comes out. Fortunately, it’s been quite sunny, bringing me bliss! However, last week was filled with rain, and I noticed some old feelings of depression and sadness creeping back in. My automatic response is this: “Well, hello, my old friend! What do you need? Can I hold you? Shall we phone a friend? Everything is going to be okay.”

Yes, I admit that I talk to myself.

Even with all the shame, guilt, disgust, and regret in the world, these so-called negative emotions are polarities in life’s battery. And you are that—life.

So, why do I talk to myself? Because parts of me were fractured from the previous version of myself and had to adapt to survive in changing times. The most potent mechanisms within us are those that protect and keep us alive.

In the name of sanity. For safety’s sake. This is the name that I pray to today and the theme of my breathwork Zoom class tonight, Wednesday, from 6-730pm PST. ~ Safety ~

It’s dark outside. The rain pounds on my windows, asking me to come play. I usually would, but for now, I need rest. Sorry Rain!

I grew up very active. Some would say boisterous. Like a moth to flame, I found ecstatic bliss in movement. I still do! But now I am more adept at knowing when it is wise to move and when to not. I’m finally listening to my body (he’s been speaking up a bunch this last year).

Some ancient sage or poet (maybe Lao Tzu or Rumi I forget) spoke to “The True Stillness Is Stillness In Movement,” but Bruce Lee definitely used that as a valuable motto. He was such a masterful mover with a strong inward practice!

It’s been three weeks since I had surgery, and I teeter-totter between excess bed rest and slight movement. The direct communication I have with my body these days is deep. But it took me a lot of suffering to get here…

It’s been 2.5 years since I gave up regular weight lifting, jogging, and yoga. I was trying for so long to exercise my body into balance. But after a lifetime of using that tool, I was forced into chill mode. For a while, it drove me bonkers. I mostly settled into a good flow of two daily walks, basic prehab mobility exercises, yin yoga and breathwork. And then last spring, my right arm went numb - A squished disc between my c5/c6 - Concussion in December - Hernia last month (runs in my family).

2.5 years of slowing down to prepare me for FULL STOP. 🙃

Ok, Universe, I Am Listening! Here is what I heard:

- I am not my body.
- I cannot correlate my self-worth to the current state of my body.
- I didn’t do anything wrong.
- I am learning how to age gracefully.
- I am grieving the loss of my old ways.

And so it is—tonight’s Zoom breathwork class (with me at 6-7:30 pm PST!) is all about DEEP REST (Surrender).

I am so incredibly sad right now. Last night, my year-long Compassionate Inquiry program had its last class. There was so much giggling and crying! Gratitude befalls me into a puddle of powerful love. Ooof, my heart!

AND I am happy to say I can hold space for my Zoom breathwork class from 6-7:30 pm PST tonight (Wednesday). Thank gosh for Community! 🤗

This is the second time I have taken this therapy program. The first time was challenging. I discovered and trudged through more suffering related to my past. This second time, though, I could show up differently, not as a coach but as a safe space holder and creator. It’s funny how time and space (and what I do with them) truly integrate the lessons we need to know to reach the next level of Love.

I talk less.

I don’t feel inclined to fix people or try to change their suffering into peace.

This program has restored my faith in humanity.

But I’m not finished. Help!

Ever since I got a concussion in December (and a hernia in January), I have fallen behind in my practicum requirements. Does anyone need free therapy? I have another ten sessions to do and am calling in two or three people experiencing something challenging in their lives. We could do a bit of breathwork if you like!

And so it is—tonight’s Zoom breathwork class (with me at 6-7:30 pm PST!) is all about perseverance. Don’t give up. I believe in You.
