Meet Marisa, a @boisestatesocialwork alum who found her job at the Boise State Career Fair.

Marisa started working at CenterPointe in 2023 as a Registered Behavioral Technician. She worked in this role for three years while completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boise State. Upon graduation of her Master of Social Work program, Marisa stepped into the role of Mental Health Counselor in May of 2026.

Marisa chose CenterPointe because she values working with children and families and felt that CenterPointe would help her gain the hands-on experience she would need to advance her career. CenterPointe stood out because of their flexible scheduling which allowed her to continue her education while working. She chose to stay with CenterPointe after getting her master’s because of the fun and collaborative environment where she truly feels supported by management.

Looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Come meet @centerpointeinc_ at the career fair next Wednesday.

Light the Night for Hope is a new initiative, sponsored by the Organization of Student Social Workers club at Boise State. This important event raises awareness and funding for suicide prevention and mental health in the Treasure Valley.

This is the first year of Light the Night for Hope, and the event raised almost $20,000 in proceeds that directly benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Idaho chapter.
