Finally a shot of sugarloaf I’m happy with. Conditions were never right, and granted the conditions on this day didn’t give me the show I was after, but I like the subtlety of the every-day feel it has.

When we got to the top of bluff knoll sunrise was starting. However on the way to the peak I noticed this pastel scene on the opposite side to the sunrise with a single cloud centred. The colours were momentary and about to be obliterated by the sun so I rushed to get all my gear together to take a still shot with the tripod (at that time it’s too dark to take a photo handheld). One lady was so confused that I rushed to take a photo in the opposite direction of everyone else and asked @emmamariebolton why I was shooting the wrong way? She basically just said that no one is taking this photo except me. (Cliche but true) So glad I did, simplicity and minimalism is my thing and this might be my single favourite shot to date. I understand it might not be everyone’s, that’s why I’m still saving the most extravagant for last! taken in Bluff Knoll Mountain by @bol7on

Saving the most intense for last from the Stirling ranges. Was the most challenging, productive and LONG day of my life. Loved the subtlety of the mountains crossing over and the orange rays from the sunrise at Bluff Knoll. Haven’t had any time to edit, this was almost out of camera so had a couple minutes to export and put something up. There is SO MUCH more to come. I’ve been blessed with a myriad of photographic opportunities this trip (so far (we leave tomorrow)) even with some setbacks. My polarising filter shattered!
