ONE SHINY MEDAL
SIX HALF MARATHONS .
16 MONTS.
126.6 km of official racing — plus about a million in training.

I ran through flat Valencia, cold Cardiff, fast Copenhagen, hilly Prague, sunburnt Lisbon, and crowded Berlin.
Burned through 3 pairs of shoes, countless gels, and maybe my sanity.

Was it worth it?
Totally.
Would I do it again?

“IMAGINE THE WORLD WITHOUT CANCER” (RUS ⬇️)
That was the message on the shirt of a runner ahead of me at the 30th kilometer.

A lump rose in my throat, tears welled up, and my breathing faltered… I imagined…

if cancer didn’t exist, my father would have been standing there in the crowd, cheering for me.

He was such a joyful, smart, athletic man with a big heart… And he had a dream - to visit Australia. The year we planned the trip… he found out about his illness. He was only 38.

That pain of a teenage girl has stayed with me forever… He was the one who took me to my first sports classes, taught me how to drive a car , listened to rock music with me, and showed me how to fry the tastiest potatoes )

This trip to Sydney carries so much meaning for me. I made it here despite an ankle and shin injury and I know he would be proud of me 💔

Такую надпись на футболке я увидела на бегуне впереди меня на 30м километре….
Я представила…
Подступил ком в горле, накатились слёзы и сбилось дыхание…, если бы не было в мире рака, то в толпе болельщиков стоял бы мой отец…Он был очень любящим жизнь, энергичным, душой кампании, с острым умом, спортивным и с большим сердцем ….

У него была мечта - побывать в Австралии.., в год когда мы планировали поездку…он неожиданно узнал о болезни…Ему было всего 38…

Это боль девочки- подростка навсегда со мной …

Он когда-то отвел меня в спортивную секцию, учил водить автомобиль, мы слушали вместе рок музыку, научил жарить самую вкусную картошку…

Поездка в Сидней для меня очень смысловая…Я сделала это несмотря на травму голеностопа и надкостницы , он бы точно гордился мной. 💔
