Are you a runner who loves Disney and the parks but feels unsure about how to train for the races while also enjoying the parks afterwards?

Do you worry about having enough energy to fully experience the magic of the parks and the excitement of traveling? Do you dream of taking on running challenges over multiple race days, tackling new distances, or running longer while still feeling strong? Do you ever doubt whether you’re a “real” runner or worry about being able to run far and still enjoy the process?

I can help! 🙌🏼

I started running in 2009 with the goal of becoming more resilient. At first, I couldn’t even run for 5 minutes and had to ask my doctor if something was wrong. He simply told me I needed more practice. Since then, I’ve never stopped. From 5Ks to half marathons, I spent almost a decade celebrating my accomplishments and racking up miles. It wasn’t until I started running at Disney World that I decided to take on new challenges, like running a 10K on Saturday and a half marathon the next day. Eventually, I ran my first marathon, driven by the idea of running through all four parks in one day.

I quickly fell in love with running longer distances and participating in multiple race day events. I adore the resilience game—running far, frequently, comfortably, and sustainably. While I still run other race events, runDisney holds a special place in my heart. At Disney World, I’ve set PRs, completed my first marathon, and even ridden a roller coaster during a marathon. runDisney is a community of supportive runners who conquer amazing challenges and celebrate their achievements together. The medals are unbeatable, and the plastic cheese at the end is the chef’s kiss. 👩‍🍳

Every runner’s journey is unique, and their training plans should be too. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge with those who want to set new challenges while enjoying the miles. Running should feel great and never be a punishment or chore.

If you’re interested in connecting with me, follow me for more running tips, runDisney content, and more.

The weather is finally starting to give us a little hope. 🍂🏃‍♀️✨
Wine & Dine Weekend starts October 22, and then somehow Marathon Weekend will be here on January 6.

Which means… a new runDisney season is almost here. 🥹

I’m ready for the training miles, the early mornings, the race weekends, the costumes, the characters, the crowds, and all the miles in between.

I will admit, though: I’m very curious to see how this new 5K start window works. Starting between 4:30am and 7:30am?! I personally would happily take the 7:30 option and sleep a little longer. 😂

It’s a little bittersweet that Disneyland races didn’t get to open the season this year, but I’m still so excited for what’s ahead.

Dopey training is here. So are the miles. The key is consistency and sooner than you think that start line will be here.

8 weeks until NYC. 🗽🏃🏻‍♀️

So naturally, I decided the best way to prepare for the marathon was to find a race with a nice, long bridge. 😂

This was a training race from last week, but I picked it very intentionally: NYC has bridges, I don’t love them so I figured it was time to practice running a long one and getting comfortable with the elevation changes.

And honestly? I’m at that very specific point in marathon training where my feelings about NYC are basically:

SO EXCITED.
SO SCARED.
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY BRIDGES. 😂

The race finished inside a baseball stadium, complete with a mascot taking photos with runners. And obviously, I had to stop.

Some habits die hard when you’re a runDisney runner. 😂🏅

Eight weeks to go. Let’s do this, NYC! 🗽

Your summer pace isn’t your fitness. And your training runs aren’t races. ☀️🏃‍♀️

Running in the heat can make the exact same pace feel significantly harder. Your heart rate may be higher, your effort may feel harder, and your pace may be slower.

That doesn’t mean you’ve gotten slower.

And you don’t need to “win” every training run. If today’s workout is supposed to be easy, running slower because it’s hot, you’re tired, or your body needs it isn’t failing the workout: it’s doing the workout correctly.

Your fitness isn’t determined by one run, one pace, or one Garmin screenshot. It’s built through weeks and months of consistent training.

Especially when you’re training for something like Dopey or any race, you don’t need to prove your fitness on every run. You need to build the fitness that will be there when you need it.

So this summer, give yourself permission to:
☀️ Slow down when it’s hot
💓 Run by effort when pace isn’t telling the whole story
🏃‍♀️ Let easy runs actually be easy
🧠 Stop treating every run like a fitness test

Your training doesn’t have to look impressive to be working.

Keep showing up. That’s the workout that matters most. 💙

A year ago, I couldn’t run.

After so many years of running, I had started to take it for granted. I thought I was doing everything right, but I knew that could never guarantee I wouldn’t get injured.

I was marathon ready. And then, suddenly, I was at zero.

It affected much more than my running. My sleep, hunger, focus, even everyday things became harder. I spent nights wondering if that was it. If I would ever run normally again.

I blamed myself. I asked, “Why me?”

But one thing I never did was give up.

I kept looking until I found the people who could help me. I worked with amazing PTs, an incredible running coach, tried acupuncture for the first time, and learned to have a lot more patience than I naturally have. I did the exercises. I did the strength work. I kept showing up.

I’m incredibly grateful for @ridgeathleticsaz , @dr.lisa.dpt and @lauranorrisrunning who each helped me through different parts of this journey.

My last runDisney season looked very different from what I had planned.

At Halloween Weekend, I was barely cleared to walk a 5K. I almost didn’t start the half, but I walked what I could. And I was so happy I did.

That’s when I realized: even if I could never run like I used to, I would walk.

At Wine & Dine, I walked the half. At Marathon Weekend, I ran/walked the 10K and half. Three weeks later at Disneyland, I was running 2 minutes and walking 1.

I was getting better.

There were still so many doubts and fears, but every time I pushed through one, I felt a little stronger.

And I don’t think I’ll ever take running for granted again.

I still love the grind. The miles. The sweat. The hard workouts. The joy. The feeling of accomplishment.

What changed is that now, every run feels like something I get to do.

Being able to run is a blessing.

This experience made me a better runner, but also a better coach. I’m more empathetic. I understand a little better what it feels like to be scared of losing something you love and to have a goal that suddenly feels impossibly far away.

A year ago, I had to defer the NYC Marathon.

Now, I can’t wait to go back and tackle it.

I will never take a mile for granted again. ❤️

Happy July!

For runDisney runners, this is when race season starts feeling real.

Wine & Dine Weekend is just a few months away. Dopey runners are starting the long journey toward January. Training plans are beginning, alarms are getting set a little earlier, and long runs are slowly finding their way onto weekend calendars.

One of my favorite things about runDisney is that race weekend is only a small part of the experience.

The real journey happens during the months before the race:
✨ The first long run that feels easier than expected
✨ Learning your fueling strategy
✨ Building confidence one workout at a time
✨ Making it through a tough summer training block
✨ Realizing you’re stronger than you were a few weeks ago

Before we know it, we’ll be talking about costumes, expo merchandise, character stops, and finish lines.

But for now, the season begins with one run at a time.

If you’re training for a runDisney race this fall or winter wishing you the best journey ahead!

runDisney announced this week the themes for Springtime Surprise 2027, and I’m excited for this one (what a surprise!).

Springtime Surprise always feels a little different from the other race weekends. It seems less crowded, less hectic, and a bit more relaxed than Marathon or Princess Weekend.

I also appreciate that the longest distance is a 10-miler instead of a half marathon. Considering this race weekend happens during Florida’s warmer weather, that’s not necessarily a bad thing!

The newly announced themes feel fresh compared to previous years, and the only medal I currently have from this group is Alice in Wonderland from Wine & Dine 2023.

Another thing I enjoy about Springtime Surprise is the possibility of running through Hollywood Studios. We won’t know the course for a while, but that’s always a good course to go through!

Will it probably be warm for this Seattle runner? Absolutely.

I’m looking forward to it!

And most importantly, I hope everyone gets the race they’re hoping for when registration opens. Good luck, everyone! ✨🏃‍♀️

Princess Weekend registration is today (hopefully), which means it’s almost time for one of runDisney’s most challenging events...

The Registration Queue. 👑

Forget tempo runs.
Forget long runs.
Forget marathon training.

The real test is refreshing your browser, watching your queue position, and trying not to panic when the website starts acting weird.

Wishing everyone fast internet, smooth registration, and the races they’re hoping for.

May the odds be ever in your favor. ✨

Yesterday was Global Running Day, and it got me thinking about how much running has shaped the way I approach life.
When I run a marathon, I don’t stand at the start line thinking about all 26.2 miles. That would feel overwhelming.

Instead, I break the race into smaller milestones. First, settle in. Then find a rhythm. Then focus on the next section. Eventually, the finish line gets closer.

Over time, I’ve realized that some of the biggest goals in life work the same way.

When something feels years away or too big to imagine, I remind myself that a marathon is just one mile repeated over and over. You don’t have to finish the whole thing today. You just have to focus on the part that’s in front of you.

Running has taught me that progress doesn’t come from thinking about all 26.2 miles at once. It comes from taking the next step, then the next, and trusting that they’ll add up.

I am so happy that I found this thing called running.

One of my favorite parts of the runDisney calendar is that every registration season feels like a fresh start ✨

Some runners are signing up for their first 5K.
Some are chasing redemption from a hard race.
Some are going for a challenge distance for the first time.
Some are returning to races that became traditions.

And somehow registration day still feels exciting no matter how many years you’ve been doing this 👑

Even if nowadays registration morning also means:
💻 multiple devices open
⏰ alarms set
🤞 hoping the queue moves fast
😅 and a little bit of chaos

Princess Weekend registration is almost here, and I hope everyone gets the race they’re hoping for 💜✨

Good luck on June 2nd!
