The more you know 💙💙

Are you maximizing your supplies? Maybe you’re not sure. 🤔

It’s absolutely worth your time to ask your provider to write your prescriptions to the maximum your insurance allow.

You’re probably already paying a monthly premium, hitting a deductible and have a co-pay. So make it work to your advantage!!

Special thanks to my amazing provider @thediabetescollective ❤️

I love to utilize an extended bolus and a split bolus.
But they work differently!

This breakdown might help if you’re feeling frustrated with blood sugars and insulin timing.

It’s not just about the amount of insulin given - it’s about how it’s delivered and when it takes effect.

Drop a comment below with any questions or if you want to share
your experience. So glad you are here! 💙

BASAL NOW IS BASAL FOR LATER 🫡

If your BG is rising at 2:30 PM, adjusting your basal at 2:30 won’t do much because that insulin might not kick in for another 1.5 to 2 hours.

✨So the key? Adjust earlier to impact later!

This one shift in thinking helped me make better decisions with:
•Refining my basal schedule
•Using activity mode more effectively
•Setting temp basal rates with more confidence
•Making better decisions when pausing or disconnecting

When you understand when basal actually works, you can start working with your insulin instead of constantly reacting to highs or lows.

Drop your questions or comments below. I’m so glad you’re here! 💙

Optimizing Correction Factors in the Tandem algorithm ✅

(Standard mode range is 112.5 - 160. The details in the screenshot are accurate, but I accidentally said and wrote 112.5 - 180. So sorry!)

Insulin now is insulin for later. Especially with exercise.

If you’re going low during a workout, waiting to suspend insulin at the start of the workout is too late.

How can I help you feel more confident exercising?
Comment below or drop a question in the whiteboard Wednesday 🔗 in my bio. 💪🏼💙

The Omnipod 5 is a system that’s constantly learning from the insulin delivered. The better your settings and the more consistently you use meal and correction boluses, the better the algorithm can work for you.

I’m so glad you’re here and I hope this helps. 💙

I still struggle with T1D

This feels a little vulnerable, but it’s my real life. Sometimes it’s just a day here and there, and other times it’s a full week of riding highs and lows.

I’m always trying to acknowledge what’s happening, and take action; even when it feels hard. If you’ve felt any of these things, please know you’re not alone.

If you need to get anything off your chest, drop a comment below.

And remember, any change you want to make isn’t “too late” ...you’re right on time! 💙 by @bolusandbiceps
