3 years ago today, I had verified the results of a diabetic a1c, which we had first thought of as a machine malfunction. 3 days later I was officially GAD65 positive and took my first shot of insulin. I watch this video often, and I'm so grateful to have had the mindfulness to record it. I had no idea what I was in store for. And I may not remember the days before or the days after, but I will always be able to recall my feelings in this exact moment, alone at 7am, my heart open, pacing around my apartment. Ive had this video pinned on my profile for 3 years now, today. And since then, I have made a group of friends I never dreamed existed. I could go on and on about how the diabetic community is as imperative to my therapy as insulin, but for now, I will simply say thank you. And I love yall so much.
