🎧 Bombón (@bombontexas) is bringing Houston’s sound to the 2026 FIFA World Cup (@fwc26houston)! The DJ collective, co-founded by Gracie Chavez and Alex “DJ Navó” Nava, was chosen to create the city’s official Sonic ID.

“The challenge was giving FIFA something that represents Houston sonically, but still feels authentically Bombón. No small feat,” says co-founder Gracie Chavez.

The road to performing at the World Cup on the 4th of July started over 2 years ago when we were commissioned by FIFA to create a song that represented Houston sonically for the FIFA World Cup. We were up for the challenge and @_alldayray, @deejayquality, @lagraciechavez and @buckamore brought it to life! 🔥🎶

It’s almost like this incredible project was made for us. Our city’s sound is distinctly Houston and influenced by the diversity and immigrant communities that flow in every corner of the city.

Now, fast-forward to this Summer, performing throughout the World Cup season and wrapping up on a high note at the final game in Houston at NRG Stadium was so special.

We’re so thankful to all of you for your support and for celebrating along with us. We will never forget this moment!

We’re still on a high from our World Cup performance at Houston Stadium! 🤩

This wouldn’t have been possible without the stadium team, @lagraciechavez,@_alldayray, @deejayquality, @buckamore, @ilyajanos ,@ogbobbytrill, @djactbadd, and @djzetroc and the rest of the Bombón crew and friends, who’ve been popping up at performances all summer.

A special shout-out to @itsyungchris for the perfect choreography and our dancers @jannahhh_c @marisbeee, and @bboy_kujac. You guys made the performance even more memorable! 🙏🏽

What an honor it has been to represent the city in this way! It’s truly been a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Still trying to process this one.

I was given just 2 minutes to DJ the pregame for the Canada 🇨🇦 vs Morocco 🇲🇦 World Cup match inside the stadium. The challenge? See how much energy, culture, and music I could pack into those 120 seconds.

The final result? 11 songs mixed into a 2-minute set. It was fast, high-energy, and one of the most fun challenges I’ve ever taken on.

Later we got to perform our halftime show, but this pregame set was something different. This one was curated with me in mind, and that means more than I can put into words.

I wanted to use that moment to represent the city and showcase some incredibly talented people from Chicago. Huge love to @sykochicago, @salmedina23, @zuestheproducer, and @dlux.wav !

A massive thank you to @ilyajanos on instruments and La Jefa @lagraciechavez for bringing so much life to the performance.

Shoutout to @djactbadd for holding it down on the mic and making sure the energy stayed at 100% from start to finish.

And to the amazing dancers @jannahhh_c, @marisbee, and @bboy_kujac—you all absolutely killed it. @itsyungchris 🫡
I’ll never take opportunities like this for granted.

This is just another chapter
