Michael “Mouse" Jenkinson is a highly decorated yet extremely humble Bondi Lifeguard.

On December 14 last year, the man they nicknamed “Mouse” was about to complete a normal day of work at the beach with his colleagues when he two g*nman started firing high powered r*fles at innocent people.

Leech v Darren Mercer over a long distance Ironman, who would come out on top?

Before the cereal wars, @guy.leech @dazmerc67 and all the top Ironmen squared off in the Fosters Ironman Classics at Bondi.

The 1985 version was a classic - the then still U18
Competitor Darren Mercer had 2 x Coolangatta Gold Champ Guy Leech on the ropes with 1k of running to go when disaster struck.

Darren took a wrong turn in the run off the promenade onto the beach early, had to run back up, and lost his lead to Leechy, who crossed the line with 1 finger in the air, letting the massive crowd in attendance know that he was indeed the 👑

One of our own, and no one more deserving @m_jenks had the honour of laying a wreath on behalf of the Bondi Lifeguards during the Anzac Day memorial.
We pay our deepest respects to all servicemen and women and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

PURPOSE
This is Tim and his beautiful daughter. Tim was running and had a massive cardiac arrest at Bondi 2 weeks ago and was found lifeless on the sand. Myself, Corey Oliver and Hoppo worked tirelessly on Tim and with early CPR and defibrillation and we were able to bring him back. When Tim left us at the beach with paramedics he was still gravely ill. This is Tim today, healthy again and spending time with his daughter. Meeting yesterday was an emotional experience to say the least.

This job is incredible. What a privilege it is to see human life in its delicate and fragile moments and be able to assist in these situations with life changing outcomes. Best job in the world. @bondilifeguards taken in Bondi Beach by @bondilifeguards

ANZAC Day 2026 Dawn Service 🇦🇺🇳🇿🇹🇷 at @northbondirslclub @tobruk_house this morning #LestWeForget

Wow! What a wonderful show of community in Bondi Beach this morning, with Aussies, Kiwis, Turks and local Bondi Beach residents from a range of different countries and cultures, up early and showing out in high numbers to pay their respects to those who have served and continue serve our countries.

In the year 2000, I travelled with 3 close friends, Paul, Cam and Maz, to the Gelibolu Peninsula in Turkey, known to us as Gallipoli, for the 85th Anniversary of the fateful landing of Australian and New Zealand armed forces at ANZAC Cove in World War I on 25 April 1915, where Australia took part in a conflict as a nation for the very first time. My time there and experience at ANZAC Cove in the early hours of the morning on ANZAC Day changed my whole world, my life and what it means to feel Australian for me.

A few years ago, my dad found my grandfather’s medals and scrapbooks with sepia tone photographs with captions from his time spent serving our military in the Middle East and Kokoda in Papua New Guinea in World War II - I never knew my grandfather, however the physical resemblance and looks are quite striking, and my dad tells we are quite similar in our temperament and personality, so this day makes me feel so much closer to my dad and grandfather too.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.”
