The painstaking job of hand carving bricks into foam for the sides of the 1/12 scale rooftop diorama I’m making for a customerAfter marking my bricks with a pencil and architectural ruler I have to go over each line with an x-acto razor blade then after scoring the lines I have to go back with a dull pencil tip to open the gap between each brick so it adds depth to the piece.After all that I have to then texture the foam so the brick will have a more realistic look while also adding even more depth to the pieceThen I can paint the bricks with a watered down black base coat and after that dries I can follow up with a dry brushing technique of brick colors which creates a shading effect in the crevices I made during the texturing processI then use matte mod podge to seal the paint and begin the process of adding grout to go between the bricksAfter the grout I can use an acrylic ink black wash to make everything blend together, add realism and some natural looking deterioration, weathered look.All that forStay tuned to see the process play out and eventually see the final product#DioramaCreators#BoneClawsCustoms #diorama #dioramas #onetwelthscale by @bone_claws_customs
