YOU’RE LOOKING AT ALMOST 100 YEARS OF CARTIER HISTORY. 🤯

CARTIER SANTOS-DUMONT — LATE 1930s 🇺🇸

An exceptional survivor from the early history of the Cartier Santos-Dumont, dating to the late 1930s.

At its heart is one of the most fascinating details: an early 19-jewel manual-winding movement signed European Watch & Clock Co. Inc. — from the old generation of Swiss movements associated with the historic relationship between Cartier, Edmond Jaeger and LeCoultre.

Even more interesting is the “EXU” import code stamped on the movement. Introduced in 1936 and assigned to the European Watch & Clock Company, EXU identifies Swiss movements imported into the United States, directly connecting this watch to Cartier New York and the American market.

The dial itself carries another beautiful period characteristic: there is neither “SWISS” nor “PARIS” at 6 o’clock — a detail found on certain early Cartier dials of this era and perfectly consistent with the late-1930s dating of this example.

Just as important are the matching numbers on the case and caseback, confirming that these essential case components belong together — something increasingly significant on a watch approaching a century of age.

The watch is also accompanied by a particularly compelling provenance. Since the 1990s, this Santos-Dumont has returned to Cartier approximately four to five times for servicing, creating a documented service history that spans several decades. The accumulated Cartier service and maintenance costs alone amount to approximately €5,000–€6,000. This long-term connection with Cartier not only demonstrates that the watch has been carefully maintained, but also adds an important layer of authenticity and continuity to its story.

And its story didn’t stop in the 1930s.

Almost 100 years old. An early EWC movement. EXU U.S. import code. Matching case numbers. Decades of Cartier service history and a remarkable provenance.

Not simply a vintage Cartier — a surviving piece of Cartier history.

Their time has come. 🕺💎

Treasures like these deserve their place in the Audemars Piguet conversation. The design, the craftsmanship, the unmistakable character. It has always been there. It’s time for a closer look.

On the left, an exceptional piece in white gold. A supple bracelet of bamboo-shaped links, a diamond-set dial, and blue sapphires at 3, 6 and 9. So much personality in every detail.

Beside it, yellow gold with an intricate woven mesh bracelet and a pavé diamond dial. Gold that drapes around the wrist like fabric.

Both manual-winding. Both with beautifully long bracelets. Two expressions of AP’s creative spirit in the 1980s and 1990s, when fine watchmaking and jewellery craftsmanship shared the same canvas.

Audemars Piguet is far more than the Royal Oak. These two make that beautifully clear.

Discover them at Bonn Luxury.

PATEK PHILIPPE NAUTILUS — A TRUE TIME CAPSULE.

Some watches are rare. Others tell a story.

An early Patek Philippe Nautilus, preserved alongside an extraordinary collection of original period documents, vintage advertisements and historical paperwork.

A beautiful reminder of a time when the Nautilus was not yet an icon, but a bold and unconventional design.

For us, collecting vintage watches is about more than the watch itself. It’s about history, originality and the little details that have survived the decades.

This is what makes vintage collecting so special.

ROLEX PRECISION REF. 9120/8 — A Forgotten Art of Watchmaking. ⚜️⚜️⚜️

Dating back to the 1950s, with a serial number in the 109xxx range, this extraordinary Rolex represents an era when watchmaking was as much about jewellery as it was about precision.

Long before Rolex became the icon of modern luxury, creations like this were true expressions of craftsmanship.

An exquisite 18k yellow gold bracelet, intricately woven like a piece of fine jewellery, conceals a beautifully preserved Rolex Precision beneath its elegant cover.

Almost more a piece of jewellery than a wristwatch.

Every detail reflects the artistry of a time when such creations were produced in remarkably small numbers, with a level of individuality rarely encountered today.

Preserved in exceptional condition, this Ref. 9120/8 is a wonderful reminder of the forgotten elegance of early Rolex.

Not merely a watch. A little masterpiece of horological jewellery.

ROLEX CELLINI OCTAGON — REF. 4651/8 ⚜️◾️
The Other Side of Rolex.

Long before integrated bracelets became a modern trend, Rolex was already experimenting with bold geometric designs.

Dating back to the late 1970s, this extraordinary Cellini Octagon combines an architectural 18k yellow gold case with an integrated bracelet, a striking black dial and a factory diamond-set bezel featuring two rows of brilliant-cut diamonds.

No hour markers, no distractions. Just pure geometry and understated elegance.

A fascinating reminder that Rolex has always been more than just sports watches.

Unconventional. Elegant. Underrated.

Cartier, but not the Cartier you see every day. ⚜️💎

Forget the Tank and Santos for a moment. This is where vintage Cartier gets really interesting.

A stunning mid-century Cartier cocktail watch, crafted in 18k yellow gold, with an integrated woven bracelet and a beautifully sculpted diamond-set case.

But the real collector’s detail is hidden inside: a rare 15-jewel European Watch & Clock Co. back-winding movement, signed “CARTIER INC.” — pointing towards Cartier New York. With the winding crown hidden on the back, Cartier kept the design clean and made the watch feel more like a piece of fine jewellery.

The beautifully aged dial is period-correct, without “SWISS” or “PARIS” at 6 o’clock, while the bracelet is stamped 750 and carries an additional “C” hallmark — another interesting detail supporting its Cartier origins.

Not the obvious Cartier.
Not something you see every day.
And exactly the kind of watch we love at Bonn Luxury.

OUTTA THE BOX 📦— INTO THE CUBE. 💎🧊

Sometimes you have to step away from the classics and put something truly different on the wrist.

The Chopard Diamond Cube is exactly that. Bold, unconventional and instantly recognizable — a design you simply don’t see every day.

This example comes as a Full Set and originally retailed for an impressive €80,000. Today, that makes the Cube particularly interesting in terms of value for money — considering the craftsmanship, diamonds and extraordinary design you’re getting.

Because a great collection shouldn’t only be about the usual classics. Sometimes you need something that breaks the rules.
