Tomorrow night, Still, In Reverie comes to life. For opening night, 17 of my photographs will be joined by live jazz from some very dear and wildly talented friends, a special drink made for the evening, and a small collection of pieces created to take a little bit of the show home with you. More than anything, I want this night to feel like what the work has always been about for me: slowing down, being present, and sharing something beautiful with the people around you. It‘s a one of a kind, a print that exists only one time in this form with hand colored flowers painted with watercolor paint on Hahnemühle Paper by me. I hiked behind the powerful cascading water while protecting my camera inside my parka. When I found a place to stop, the landscape outside suddenly appeared to be framed by the waterfall itself. From that position, I could follow the winding movement of water flow through the land and toward the distant ocean visible along the horizon. I was no longer simply looking at a waterfall. I was looking through it. The experience felt like discovering an opening within a landscape I thought I already understood. The waterfall was no longer only the subject. It had become a window pane. There were limestone karsts everywhere we looked at Phang Nga Bay. At one point, these two people in a small boat appeared in the distance, fishing beside one of the towering formations. Immediately my mind started wandering. What would it feel like to have this as an everyday landscape? What is an ordinary Tuesday like when you commute via boat here instead of by car in a busy city freeway during rush hour? What do people who live here do for fun? What are their routines and their worries? When I got just close enough to capture them, I focused on the present scene in front of me and took the shot. This exhibition has been in the works for months. 17 prints in total were carefully curated and test printed multiple times on various papers for the best results. This is the work that most don’t see. Meticulous attention to detail by master printers @film_solutions, amazing curation by @bonny_artconsulting and hours of work by the whole team has all led to this. I cannot thank everyone enough to allow me to have this exhibition and I am so excited for you all to see this in person! Opening is tomorrow - August 6th from 6pm and will be up for 2 months at the historic @thebiltmorela. Come check out the exclusive partnership I did with @amalgamcollectionmodels and @bugatti edit: @spencer.sease agent: @picturemattersagency @officialbugattistore. #fineart #fineartprints #bugatti #exhibition #photography by @bonny_artconsulting
